In the recent Japanese Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Assassin's Creed Odyssey, a game which would not normally be playable on the system, would be streamable to Japanese players using the system. The cost is about $6.50 for a full day of renting the game out. There is also a cost for the full version of the game, streamable to the switch on any day for a certain price point.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey will be launching simultaneously with the rest of the versions of the game on Oct 5.
This is the second time the system has been put in place, the first being with Resident Evil 7 on switch, which was a 6 month/$20 rental. This is similar to PS Now, where you stream games to the system. However this is paid on a game by game subscription instead of the full package of game like PS Now.
Thought's on this new way of playing these third title games on switch by streaming them?
Personally, I actually game using Nvidia Geforce Now on pc, which is a streaming service itself. To me this is exciting news as Geforce runs really well for beta at max settings on a lot of games. Seeing this on the switch makes me happy, as I can try out games that are otherwise unplayable on my switch too!
However one of the big downsides I know is that this takes fast internet to do, not only that but quite a bit of it to run smooth on higher settings. Running a game on 1080p maxed takes at least 50 mbps of internet with no packet loss and things of that matter. Considering you can't connect a switch to ethernet, it would be really hard to run 1080p max on the system. They would have to resort to downgrading it a lot so you could maybe, run the game using 10-20 mbps max. Another thing is this makes it practically impossible to play on the go, because it kills data, you need internet, and mcdonald's wifi probably won't be good enough to support the game.
Overall I have both a positive and negative outlook on this new streaming form of playing games on switch. How will it fare up to other games, which may be downgraded but don't require streaming to play?
