like it so far but I can't kill the first monster in the tree, help please?

...Really?

The Queen Gohma (the boss) or the Deku baba (plant thing)?

Most regular enemies in the game can be beaten by just like, hitting them, the boss you just need to shoot its eye when it changes colour, which is before it attacks you.

It's the standard 90s-action-game thing of 'shield when they attack, then hit back immediately because there's an opening.' You do have the Deku Shield, right? :panda:

she did the mido skip

Gohma you mean? If so all it takes is L-Targeting Gohma's eye and wait until it rears just before attacking, then shoot it with your slingshot, then while she is stunned hit her with your sword as much as you can. Next, Gohma will climb up to the ceiling and spit out some baby mooks who will fight you. Dispatch of them quickly and then using the slingshot try to find Gohma on the ceiling again.

If you hear a noise of something dropping on the floor before you find Gohma that means she's already on the floor and you should start looking there instead. Rinse and repeat the first step and you should be able to beat Gohma fairly quickly.

Also, don't mind other people here who'll go "Seriously? You can't beat that boss?" For them they've at least played the game once or even several times, so that boss is mockingly easy to them.

Because everyone ever has never goofed at a game, if they don't know how to do something it's because they haven't played the game through already, not because they can't figure it out, of course.

No not really sometimes even the best gamers miss simple things, nothing to be ashamed of.

But you can't really expect to miss something that a majority of people don't and not expect some sort of reaction, can you? I've done worse to be honest, in these situations it's reasonable for people to be like "lol u dumb".

i mean this is the tutorial boss of a childrens game were talking about

Never said even best gamers don't goof occasionally or that nobody ever has. We were all beginners at one point or another with more or less the same learning curves (unless you happened to cheat with a walkthrough/vids beforehand) and it's certainly not uncommon for some people to truly get stuck in situations that might seem easy for others. Regardless of which, that reaction's not really needed when somebody is asking for help. Also don't take that to assume you can't have a reaction to it but if you're giving help it's best done without the remarks.

@Pokegirlbree If it's regular enemies you're having trouble with then it sorta depends on the enemy in question; Deku Babas are fairly easy to slay with your sword. Skulltula's depend on their location, but usually you'll have to shoot them down with your slingshot. Deku Scrubs will shoot Deku Nuts at you, so the only way to beat them is through bouncing their nuts off of your shield back into their direction.

But how do you bounce the nuts with said shield

" that reaction's not really needed when somebody is asking for help"

Sorry for expressing my honest reaction, and thank you so much for attempting to police it.

@Pokegirlbree If you block a nut with your deku shield it will bounce back in the direction you're blocking, don't worry you don't need to do any special actions or whatever, you just need to block it and it will bounce off, either face towards the deku scrub you're wanting to counter attack manually and then block, or you can Z-target (lock on to) it and block to make the aiming for the bounce back a bit easier.

A control guide online might be more helpful to you than this thread.

I know, but in theory if you had anymore questions you could just look at a guide or an FAQ instead of having to wait for a response, just would be more convenient for you.

Are you talking about Gohma? If so, just use the slingshot to hit its eye and let your sword do the rest. Wait...you didn't happen to utilize the speed running glitch where you skip Mido, did you? If so, I'm not really sure how to help you at this point. That is, unless you know the rest of the glitch and know how to teleport out of there to the end of Ganon's Tower...
