i just got super mario kart from nintendo eshop on my wii u. the reason i chose this game is because it was the first mario kart game that i played, and also my favorite! it was probably the best and most memorable game to me in the mario kart series.

it was my dad who introduced me to this game when i was a kid. of course, i didn't start out very well, but i quickly caught on. i played the game all day that day. how could i not? i was a kid, and i was having loads of fun.

being the most memorable mario kart game to me, i saw it on the eshop and got it for less than $2. above the picture it said "discount". i don't know why, and hadn't then either, but i got it at that low price while i could. so here i am now, playing my favorite mario kart game.

You got a discount because you own it on Wii Mode (you may have gotten a code for it from Club Nintendo.)

I just got the game myself not long ago due to the Throwback Sale, it's fun but it isn't all that great imo.

oh, i think it's awesome. and yeah, i did get the wii version from club nintendo. glad i got such a great discount! i've been playing it a lot this afternoon. i think it's the best mario kart. i like the classics.

Well, you can't beat the classics, I'll give you that. Though it isn't my favorite, it's still pretty good. I prefer Mario Kart 64 or Double Dash over the others. I wasn't a fan of Mario Kart 7's flight system, and I'm sure Mario Kart 8 has the same thing so..I don't know if I'll ever be picking it up.

Oh, nice! I remember playing Super Mario Kart when I was a kid as well. It was a really fun game to play, and it was known as one of the best family-oriented racing games for its time. The game has pretty good 3D-like graphics for an SNES game, and it layed the groundwork for some of the current Mario kart games. I haven't played MK7/8, but I have played MKWii and GameCube MK.

I remember playing Super Mario Kart about six years ago at a friend's house (on the PS2 - he had an emulation disc, yeah) and for some reason I found the faux-3D - which was good for a SNES game - so funny that I laughed until I cried. It was so funny because I couldn't tell if the track was moving or my kart was moving. But still, it's an important game, it spawned the whole karting genre, even though I think Crash Team Racing is the game that perfected it  I won every race against my friend, by the way :D

I hope you enjoy it, Tsukubaki, although I'd rather stick with the new ones :cat:

I agree with the fact of recalling old gamer's time by playing those great old games. Even though it is not my favourite mario kart game because I got to know it when I was already a grown up, it is a good choice you took. Hope you have real fun with it! Ah, and when possible I would recommend you get mario kart 8 too!

i want to get mario kart 8, but at this point i just don't have the funds. im thinking about getting a credit card and putting that on my eshop account for future use, though. this way i can just make a trip to the bank and use the money whenever i need it rather than buying a bunch of funds cards for eshop.
