Kill La Kill looks similar to Gurren Laggan... Don't you think?

I love these two shows!!! They are so fast paced and awsome, the fights are beautiful... No to mention the OVERLOAD of EPIC-NESS!! I noticed that when you've first watched Gurren Laggan and then start to watch Kill la Kill, you think to yourself... " Hey this anime is awfully similar to Gurren Laggan..!" I want to know who also thought this, about these two beloved anime--!!

Kill La Kill was produced by Trigger which was founded by Hiroyuki Imaishi who was a previous employee of the animation studio Gainax where he directed Gurren Laggann, that's why they look so similar.
