SSB for Wii U Kirby needs to eat, but how?

I noticed a lot of people that use Kirby don't really use hats into their gameplay. I was wondering why that was the case then I realized, Kirby doesn't have a true combo which lets him inhale the opponent. I feel that shouldn't be a reason to not eat the opponent, because hats can change Kirby's play style differently. So I was pondering around for some things that would help Kirby eat the opponent (as mix-ups) and so far here's what I found.
  • Dair > Inhale (any% on ground)
  • Utilt > Inhale (0-80%, jump then inhale after 40%)
That's two good options for getting the inhale right there! These work as long as the opponent doesn't DI away for the most part, which probably is less likely to happen from the Dair combo. I might make another post about hat combos, but for now I just wanted to let people know about this.

Interesting =P I think I'll try that sometime when I play Kirby. Sometimes it's kinda hard to take advantage of Kirby's inhale. (or sometimes I forget :p) but many times people just ram into the inhale XD Kirby is quite reliable enough even without the advantages of the hats.

I can sure count on you for anything regarding Kirby x3

;)
If you want I can make more posts about different hat combos Kirby can pull off, just tell me a character and I'll get back to you with different hat combos for you to try!

@np2016 the reason why people don't use hats is because usually the match up Kirby is against, using the hat actually makes him WORSE. What I mean by is that high level kirby players tend to use inhale to launch them. However, the set ups you have provided do work to achieve this task. Only if this were melee where you can body slam off the stage

Well it depends on a matchup honestly. If it was someone like Ganon then maybe a Warlock Punch won't help you a lot but if it's something like Shulks's Monado arts or Villager's Pocket then most definitely Kirby would love using those abilities. It's truly up to the better judgement of the player but I think hats are good for him.

Be kirby. Use inhale, jump off stage, shoot character under stage. Works on nearly every character with the exception of flipping immortal recovery pit. But I feel certain matchups are good to have a hat, namely characters that spam their B move, notably sonic and the pits, although ike would work i guess. The hats are really underrated, mainly because if you are up against someone with a decent B move but overall great other moveset, such as link, you are toast.

Except mashing out and people already know how to counter that

I literally watched that video before coming onto this site @BlazingKen I watch alpharad. One player having it happen to them isn't that big of a deal. Also, I said counter it, and they didn't meet the conditions to counter it

Well none the less it is still possible, and while it is no reliable tactic, it may be an easy kill for an experienced Kirby player, so while I agree there are ways to counter it it is not 100% avoidable, and it is cool to know that we have alpharad fans here. Also, I admit that was only possible due to the shield being broken, however certain characters, mainly bulky ones, may be easier to trap like this. Finally, if you could please post these ways to counter, if you don't mind and are not busy of course.

Like, if you allow someone to do that to you, quit the name and try harder. Like how the panthers need to at the Super Bowl ( @TR-8R )
