Chain fishing is probably the best way to catch shiny "fish" Pokemon in the water. @dilawer wrote a guide here - http://forum.3dspedia.com/threads/how-to-catch-a-shiny-with-chain-fishing-method.6106/

If you complete the PokeDex in the game (event 'mons aren't needed), you will get a Shiny Charm if you talk to the professor. The shiny charm increases the chances of encountering a shiny Pokemon in the wild.

Hunting for Pokemon in a Friend Safari has a higher chance than normally for encountering shiny Pokemon. If you have the shiny charm, you're going to find a lot of shiny Pokemon in friend safaris. This is probably the best way to encounter shinies.

Breeding Pokemon with foreign Pokemon (eg. Japanese) also increases the chance of the offspring hatching as a shiny Pokemon.

I recommend the horde method,i got 2 shiny pokemon through this method, whismur and Durant. What you have to do is get a pokemon with sweet scent like odish or tropius or get a lot of honey.Use super repels or max repels and then try move from place to place every 5 minutes.

so in theory horde with shiny charm = higher chances

Try using the Masuda Method, breed two Pokemon from different regions together, the chances of breeding a shiny via the Masuda Method in Gen 6 is 1/683.

The best way encointering a shiny for me is by made in battle when using sweet scent.. Got a flock of pokemon to fight..from there the increase of encountered shiny pokemon is high.. I got both pelipper and floatzel from there. One more patience is need

Try the pokeradar method, maybe it might be hard but it is an easier to know that you will get a shiny. You just keep chaining the pokemon you encounter from the start and I think the 30th time is when you get shiny

I think not after 30 chains , but on the 40th of chaining same pokemon .after the 40th reset the pokeradar several times until you find a shiny patch.. I tell this based on mostly people say and do chaining by website ..:)

Right now I'm trying to het a shiny charm just so I can sell shiny pokemon. so right now I'm trying to complete the national dex so I can get the shiny charm.

Marc basically summarized all of it. However, there is but one method that will allow you to get guaranteed results. For that, you will need to get an egg of the Pokemon you want shiny. After that, you must find the ESV (Egg shiny value). You can googke that to find out about it. Once that is done, you need to find someone with a TSV that matches your egg. On reddit, people are constantly trading TSVs and you can find people with that TSV. Get them to hatch the egg for you and trade the hatched Pokemon back. It will be: SHINY! Hope this helps.

Yup this is legit^

My tsv is 3224.

If anyone has an egg with that value, I can hatch it for you. You'll need to have someone with AR or something to check what your tsv is, and maybe we should have a thread listing everyone's tsv. Would makes things easier.

There are actually many ways. You can use the Masuda method, chain fish, use the dex nav (In ORAS), and use the poke radar. (In games that have it)

Masuda method: Have one pokemon of a species from your game, and one from another country. Breeding these will increase your shiny chance to 1/1638. In generation 6 it is 1/1365. You can do whatever you what with this. You could have a shiny with the perfect ivs, nature, characteristic, egg moves, etc if you want.

Chain fishing: Chain fishing is actually really easy. First I suggest changing the settings for text speed to fast and turning off battle animations. then set the only One key item to the Y button. If you want you can have an Octillery with suction cups at the front of your party. this guarantees a pokemon while fishing. Go to a good fishing spot that has the pokemon you want and start fishing. Do not move or restart your game. Saving and using items and O Powers shouldn't break the chain. After 40 pokemon in a chain your chance for a shiny in that chain is 1/200. (Note: It does not have to be the same pokemon one after another)

The dex nav is actually about as easy as chain fishing in my opinion. However big your chain is it raises the chance to find shinies, kinda like chain fishing. Just go to an area with lots of grass that has the pokemon you want. Open the dex nav and tap the pokemon you want. (Note: You'll have to have already caught that pokemon in order for it to show up on the dex nav.) Then just hit search, sneak up on the pokemon and feint or capture it. Then tap on the search button again and continue. Nobody knows much about this yet although I can confirm it works. I've gotten a shiny absol after a chain of 150 or so. This also gets you shinies with potentially good ivs, moves, etc because the higher your search level is the better those things will be. (Note: This is for ORAS only)

I wouldn't suggest asking me about the poke radar though. I suck at it... so... I guess watch this.
