L and R buttons not working

Has anyone else had this problem? I experienced it after playing Kid Icarus: Uprising and my l and r buttons don't respond as much anymore which makes it hard to play other games like Smash 3DS

yep this kind of common problem in every nintendo 3ds xl console you may ask nintendo service to help you out and other is that may be dust and dirt might get setlled down on your l and r so the buttones might not respond.

You might want to check you L and R buttons for any dirt and grime or dust that may be present and try blowing into them . If that doesn't work , then it may be worn from over use so if all else fails , then you may have to contact Nintendo to help you fix it as pokemon pro said .

^ just like what they said, try blowing the buttons ([just like] aka gameboy cart solution). This is a temporary solution but yeah, this works with other players. If this doesn't work, the buttons might be broken.

When that happens to me, I just create a vacuum not allowing air to get into the buttons then I blow hard on them. It has solved the problem twice for me but before I used that, I just waited and it eventually fixed itself.

My friend has the XL and occasionally his L and R buttons won't respond whenever he's playing smash, he says he just kinda blows into the buttons or just gets a small cloth and rubs it over the buttons and they start working again.

You might have to send your ds to Nintendo. Nintendo might send you a new one or fix the l and r buttons. I had to send my nintendo dsi back to nintendo, and nintendo sent me a new dsi. I really wish they did not send me a new one.
