Do you think the NX will ne the last nintendo console of the decade? As of this post, there's only 4 and 11/12 years left before 2020 hits (and everyone will have perfect vision)

It's honestly tough to tell for sure. They have been releasing consoles like crazy this past decade, yet I think their stamina has been slashed quite a bit from doing so. If Nintendo does manage to release another console before decade's end, however, it would probably be the last one for a long while (5+ years).

I look forward for that perfect vision >.<

Based on my own preference, I do believe that it might as well be the last one for the decade. It might not be too wise to release yet another console before 2020, supposing that the NX did not sell well. The NX seems to be something really big so it'll probably stand strong for a good while.

Two console sale fails in a row would be devastating to Nintendo, and I don't think the sales of the 3ds family would be able to hold two 'miscarriages' on its back. I sure do hope the NX can stand its ground. :bear:

If the NX is going to be released so late this decade then I don't really see how another console can be announced within this decade. The NX will probably have a longer life than the Wii U for sure, but I kind of feel bad for gettingba Wii U so late in its life >.<

What's sadder is that I might not even get an NX when it's released >.>

I want perfect vision too!

It might be, hard to tell. It's either the last or the last but one, if they decide to add a console at the end of 2019. But since the NX is going to come out end 2016-start 2017 (is that correct?) it seems likely enough for it to be the last ne of the decade. Woah. That sounds pretty big, doesn't it?

No one knows for sure of its release date, but it's likely for Japan to get first dibs, then the rest of the world a month or several later.

Yep, it does sound pretty huge! :jawdrop:

That was assumed :p

It seems pretty unlikely that the NX will screw up since hopefully Nintendo would learn from the mistakes of the Wii U.

Just like the Gamecube. Gamecube (in sales) failed. The Wii did much, MUCH better.

I don't think they'll release something else at the end of the decade. However, that doesn't mean they won't be developing a new console/handheld.

I don't know. I just want a cool controller and more indie games.

Assuming it's a home console, we could potentially see a HDS or something of the sort released in 2018/2019. If it's a hybrid console, then I'd say definitely. In the next 5 years, even if NX doesn't sell well, you would think that Nintendo would just stick with it and then evaluate their options because if they release another console shortly after NX, it could potentially damage consumer confidence and we don't want that to happen.
