Wow that is some nice information :D I hope it's true
And I though that the Inklings would explode first place but it was quite unexpected for me to see Shovel Knight with a high percentage amount . But I still have my hopes for Inklings :sneaky: Also where is Shrek ? I don't see him XD Maybe you can state the percent ?

Shrek is 1.71%

I dont think that poll is accurate. Even so, I wouldnt count whichever character with the most votes to get placed in Smash. Japan hasnt even gotten Shovel Knight, so dont expect him anywhere in Smash. Also, the Super Smash Bros Ballot is more of a suggestion box than anything else.

A person on reddit made a poll and these are the results. The results are not actually the real results from the ballot.

These reddit results shouldn't be condsidered significant; it's an entirely different poll with less people voting, and was released a short time after the ballot was released..... Which counts as now too. And, let me add, why would you want shrek!?
1st: He's a DreamWorks character. Nothing to do with Nintendo, and Nintendo games don't count. (As far as I know:bear:)
2nd: He originated from a movie, not a game franchise:cool:
3rd: He's shrek!:p The only fighting game that he can be in is shrek super slam.
Nintendo never said they wouldn't put him, but it is VERY unlikely. I consider Goku a waste of a vote, because of the fact they said they wouldn't add goku. But everyone can vote for whoever they want. It doesn't matter, and I'm happy people are passionate about having certain characters in smash.:cat: In all honesty, please explain to me what you find interesting about Shrek.:pompus: Is it his moveset potential, or a character you generally like?

Well Punch Out wasn't popular in Japan but Little Mac still made it in

He made it in so he COULD become popular. No one knew what Fire Emblem or mother/earthbound was before smash 're-introduced them, so just because a character isn't popular, doesn't mean they can't make it in. That'll actually increase their chances. Given that smash is all about representatives of Nintendo game franchises, it may have become more than just a crossover. Characters that were once popular need to be brought back to their former glory! We need more characters like duck hunt! Like Klonoa, who was very popular in Japan, but died down in the US. or Inklings, to further increase their popularity.

Shovel Knight isnt out in Japan. The Japanese folk dont know who Shovel Knight is. At least they knew Little Mac. He is a first party character who was heavily requested in the West. I know that there's a Japanese fan favorite who go it, but I forget who. Anyways, I still say that Shovel Knight will have a small chance. Especially if Sakurai stays true to the guidelines he has seem to made.

Shrek is understandable. Many trolls like using him to assist in ther trolling. I even voted for Shrek in the Smash Poll just for fun. I know he won't get in, but people like asking for the impossible choice.
