This is the only Zelda game I have right now and I like it.why? There's the secret shell collecting, heart pieces to look for,the bosses and the dungeons are challenging, there's the color dungeon where you get the attack or defense tunic, and there's also the other nintendo game references.plus there's the items you get like Pegasus boots and what not I favor the bomb arrows personally.

If you like that game, you should put the Oracles games on your wish list. Both of those games use an improved version of Link's Awakening engine and not only that, they have this cool feature where once you've finished either game (Ages, Seasons) then you can input an end-game password you receive into your next game, giving you bonuses like extra heart, shield already, characters from the previous title played show up. you can get your hands on cool items and generally cool stuff happens that you wouldn't find in a normal course of gameplay.

Both stories are really entertaining but my personal suggestion is Oracle of Ages. That one could basically be summed up as "OOT 2D" what with it's time travelling conundrums it throws at you. However if you're more of an action type of guy, then Seasons would be more for you. Either way though, both of those games are amazing and it's really interesting to see a larger plot unfold between the two smaller ones.

I had one of those before,I forgot which one though

This game is great it adds a new dungeon and more stuff to the great game that is already link's awakening, this game introduced mario stuff too lol, i recommend oracle games or a link between worlds for 3ds also a link to the past is really good but the 3ds worlds is way better than alttp

I think that Link's awakening DX, was a great improvement over the original (Perhaps serving as a prelude to future remakes such as Wind Waker HD and Twilight Pincess HD, but on a much smaller scale). Although, the jump to color graphics on the gameboy was a big deal back in the day...
