I was thinking...
When Link saves Hyrule, Zelda sent him to the past so he would be able to enjoy his childhood.
But he finished to be alone, and he suffers a lot in this game... a lot. After saving Termina, nobody recognizes him as a hero, for Termina or Hyrule, dying alone.
Reason of that, he wants at least to teach some techniques to the next hero, the Link of Twilight Princess...
In others words, this would be the Link who most suffered on the series. In some aspects, the Zelda series is a little more darker than it seems...
