When you check a Pokemon's summary, it has two statistics:
OT (Stands for Original Trainer)
ID No.

So, my shiny Infernape has
OT: Alex
ID No: 55549

These both link to my Trainer Card, as my Trainer Card has the same OT and ID No, which means I can sell it

If the Infernape's stats were
OT: Marc
ID No: 782579

I wouldn't be able to sell it, as it does not match with my own, therefore I did not catch or breed it.
