So I've been playing Super Smash bros lately and I noticed that some of mario and Luigi's moves are kinda similar..Then I thought, why not make luigi a skin. But then again, there still is a ton of differences between the two characters. What do you guys think?☺☺

Mario and Luigi are two completely different characters, probably the only similarities are neutral b, up b (by name), and Nair. Mario works around doninating the field and keeping opponents off stage as much as possible. Luigi relies on his many down throw combos to build damage and getting kills. If anything, Mario and Dr. Mario are more clones of each other, the main difference being speed, power, and Down B.

I would have agreed with you back in SSB64, but ever since Melee, Luigi has deserved his own roster slot more so than several other characters. Although some consider them clones or semi-clones, there is enough variance that sets them apart from each other, both minute or large. Even the little changes call for completely separate fighting styles, with Luigi having lower traction, higher jumps, and a taller body.

If anything, Dark Pit is a skin of Pit; that's literally how he started back in Brawl.

Mario works around doninating the field and keeping opponents off stage as much as possible.
... Er, I wouldn't really call that a difference for Mario as Smash centers around a "King of the Hill" style objective, so in reality, that statement could apply to anybody in the current roster.

Mario has a Mario Bros. player 2 skin but Luigi deserves his own personal slot as he play different roles (in Luigi's Mansion and Dr. Luigi) and had his own year. He certainly plays like a different character because he can't wall jump the way Mario can (but occasionally he can stick to walls) making him different as well as his all around stronger moves and just as good of a juggle game as Mario does.

Back in the original Smash Bros., he was just a copy. He had eveything that Mario had. Over time, he made his own character. He has different moves now, most notable is the up-b and the side-b. Luigi is a very tricky character and also has a sliding friction that happens to most characters when they stop running, but his feels like it takes long to stop.
