M&L:DT: Tips for Zookeeper?

I'm stuck on beating the Zookeeper in Mario and Luigi: Dream Team. First, to tell you, my Gyro keeps on messing up. I tried about 20 times now.
 
If your gyros are messed up try sitting up straight and your 3ds titled some. It calibrated the position you start the battle in. If that doesn't work then there is no way you are beating the ZEEkeeper
