Well, first, congrats to all those who have gotten Majora's Mask 3D! :D Guys, you'll love it! It's so scary, but so fun! :3. Now then, leave. That's right, leave.I'm about to talk about something that may be spoilers for newcomers to this particular Zelda,so if you hate that,go now. :p So,the big thing everyone's talking about this game is what exactly happens to Link when he follows the Skull Kid/Majors into Termina? Well, most say he's dead, and Termina is actually Limbo, where he must relive the same 3 day disaster in order to save everyone. Well, that certainly sounds tortuous, yeah? That fall was mighty deep at the beginning, wasn't? But then,I thought of something...What if Link...didn't actually die,but was WARPED instead? Think about it,you remember those magical mask apparitions floating as he fell? What if,to escape,or rather lure Link into this trap,Skull Kid/Majors made a portal in the tree stump? If this was indeed Limbo, why was Skull Kid seen playing tricks on people in Termina BEFORE the whole disaster?? Makes you think, doesn't it?

Well first off I'm still playing Majora's Mask in my emulator on my computer :p . Probably not gonna get the game until probably next year or so :/ Well I been watching some theories to say that my opinion is that Link may be dead in Majora's Mask due to the fact that Link can only be here and stuck in Termina of the 3 day cycle . It is that Link can't go further in life maybe because he is ..... dead . But there are some people who think he is not dead .

Anyway , if only the Skull Kid never played any trick on Link then Link wouldn't have to go through all this  . After all , all he wanted to do is find Navi

@Jacknoir12 :True that, and I sympathize for him. :( The more I looked in the theory,I kept thinking about the fall though.I mean,it looked too much like a portal rather than just him dying.I mean,it IS possible he is dear, but Skull Kid was in Termina way before he found Majora's Mask, playing pranks, yeah? So,I dunno, that's just opinion. Lol,I kinda wish @OopaMazo was here to sift through it,he brought it up last night, lol.

He drowned...

I heard of the theories that he died, I actually think that its interesting though. It's possible that he could have seeing the events that followed him going after Skull Kid. And they say Skull Kid is dead too, so....

@Jeff The Killer :Well,I know that kids who get lost in the Lost Woods turn into Stalfos. So,if they are dead creatures,or rather 'undead' creatures,Skull Kid falls in that category. And yeah,I think your theory could very well be as well! I never thought about that!

I wouldn't go as far as to think that Link is actually dead in MM. But here are some reasons I of why I think he is dead:
Because well....he fell of a SUPER tall cliff which I really doubt anyone could survive even if it was Nintendo logic, If you were to recreate that cliff and then make link fall off it, then I'm pretty sure you would loose all your hearts and it would be a Game Over.
Also you start off with 3 hearts in MM which is a DIRECT sequel to OoT. You really should have 20 hearts, so it kinda gives the impression that he's dead and never continued on living.
But there is the ending scene that in-justifies my reasoning, since he somehow gets up back to the surface to continue his hunt for Navi. And now that I think of it...maybe the whole game WAS A DREAM...

@AlphaMagi :Yeah...that may be true as well! Link DID continue searching for Navi at the end,and he was back in the forest from the beginning.Which brings the portal theory up again.I still think Link was transported into Termina by Skull Kid/Majors when he followed into the tree.Knowing Majors,he may have wanted to toy with Link before killing him,y'know?

@P2.0 :That certainly could be the case. But there are so many theories that you can never really know for sure. It's one of the reasons I enjoy playing MM, every time I play it, I find new theories and things.

@AlphaMagi :Agreed. :D It's so fun going through the story again, finding theories online, and coming back to the spot mentioned in articles to see it ourselves. One thing's for certain,it's exciting to think about! :)

No, I doubt he's dead :p

If I'm not mistaken, Twilight Princess is the sequel for Majora, right!? So he LIVES in Majora.

It's cool that there are so many theories about MM. It's my favorite Zelda *-* Termina is really a dark world, and Majora is realistic when it gives us limited time to do things. It kinda says: "HEY LISTEN! WORLD IS ENDING, YOU HAVE NO TIME TO GO FISHING NOW!" :D

I have heard of this theory before and it sounds really interesting. It would make sence that link is in limbo and he has to relive the same three days over and over again. Some people theorize that he is going through the five stages of grief, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance, each corresponding to a region and acceptance being the end of the game where link accepts his death and moves on.

@lemonpoppymuffin :Wow,that's the first I've heard of that one! To be honest,I don't know what to say about this theory,I may have to experience it myself to give a good answer on it.But what I think I gathered from it,is Link's already dead, and his spirit hasn't moved on yet?

Yes and for example the first stage is denial( I know it says grief but I think that is an extra one, whoops) . Clock town is in denial about the moon falling. The second stage is anger, In the deku kingdom the Deku king is angry over the lost princess and at the monkey. The goron leader bargains you to bring him back to life. The Zola lulu has lost her eggs and is in depression. Finally in the icona canyon where you climb up twards enlightenment in the form of the light arrows at the top of the stone tower temple, acceptance. It's very interesting when you think about it.
