I didn't really know what to name this thread but I tried my best. Basically what I wanted to write about was little (or big) changes that you want to see in the new games 'Sun and Moon' to make it more current.
For me the further we go through the Pokemon series the faster the games unfold. Since I first played Pokemon it started with having to walk until you gained your running shoes too being able to fun straight away, from getting a bike to getting roller skates AND a bike. That's quite a literal example but pace is definitely a trend I see.

Okay so enough of me blabbing, here's some changes that I would like to see;

1. PC boxes on the go.
I think that having to go into the Pokemon Center every time you want to switch out a Pokemon or organize your PC boxes is tedious and takes up a lot of time. I think that having something like the DexNav or PokeTch as something you can carry around to be able to use your PC on the go would be a really neat change. The PC Box has been in the games for a very long time, I think it's time for a change. It'll make the game quicker and easier to use which would therefore let you battle and train more.

2. HM's no more!
HM's are literally my worst hate in the Pokemon games. They annoy me so much and there is absolutely no need for them. Most of the HM's are completely useless apart from Fly (which still isn't a great move), Surf (but scald's better) and waterfall (but there's only so many physical orientated water Pokemon). Why do Pokemon need to learn how to swim or fly, isn't it in there nature? I do understand that they don't want us to advance without earning the gym badge but there's better ways to do that. HM's cause us to have a whole slot dedicated just to HM's which means that we only have five usable Pokemon and we do not get to use all out limited slots fully.

3. Wifi Pokemon League?
Just like the Pokemon league in the anime I believe that the games should incorporate a tourney style Pokemon league. First off I will say legendary Pokemon and hacked Pokemon should not be allowed and the levels of Pokemon should be capped at say 50. Other rules like Smogon rules should be incorporated to ensure a fair match. I think that Pokemon has to much potential that they're not tapping into with the online play. I'm haven't gone into detail with this idea as there hasn't been anything like it before but what I'd like is that there's 8 players in a tourney style setup and they battle until one's left. As this would be difficult for all 8 to stay online they could switch to 4 wins in a row and match people depending on their win streak. After they won four in a row they'd have access to the elite four and champion.

4. Gym's revamped.
I don't think gym's should be type specific. In fact I think that it makes the game too easy. *See's electric type gym* - *destructed by Garchomp*. *See's dragon type gym* - *Mega-Gardevoir go!*. *See's fairy gym* - *C'mon Scizor*. I think that gym's should be make up of a mixture of types, maybe having specific play styles. Ie; offensive, defensive, special, physical, cute, strong. I think that'll bring more of a challenge and more unpredictability into the game.

5. More Post Game Action!
Okay my opinions a bit biased here, mainly cause I'm in love with the battle frontier. It is THE best post game feature throughout the game and undoubtedly the hardest. On my first Platinum file I had over 120 hours played and still hadn't got the colored prints. I think that made the games a lot harder and much more fun. It made we want to play after I finished the main game. Other features like the 'world tournament' should be available, after all Pokemon battles are the culture of the Pokemon world, you'd think extra tourneys like that would be available in abundance.

Okay so that's my top 5. Completely opinion based and I want to hear yours! Comment with what you think of these 5 changes and some of your own! I want to hear your opinion :)
Also comment how you think Pokemon will develop and has developed over time and what changes Pokemon Sun and Moon will bring. Thanks for reading folks! ;)

Well there are a few disagreements that I have with this proposal:

1) Putting Pokemon in a PC box heals them fully, so if this were a thing then the E4 would not even be a challenge. You could just swap in and out your pokemon to prevent having to use Healing Items in between battles. Plus you could even switch up your whole party to give yourself a full advantage against the next opponent, which would probably make the game more unfair.

2) I actually had a pretty cool option in place of this. We can have a person who can use certain HMs we don't have for a small fee (like 500 or something) for HMs like Cut, Flash, Strength, and Waterfall (Surf and Fly would have to be on your own since you actually control them). Also if we could get something like in ORAS with the Eon Flute, we wouldn't need Fly at all =D.

3) This could be different, kinda like how they do Online Competitions where you randomly battle someone online and have the winner move on while the loser either gets out or moved to a losers bracket. Not too familiar with the tourney setup but it could be better.

4) Well the gym leader's team would still be posted online for people to find out, and find counters to so doing that would be unique indeed but doesn't really change the aspect of how challenging it is. Also Dark Type Gym PLS >.<

5) Agreed, I'm a sucker for post game content (something XY and ORAS didn't really do well for me >.<)

Portable Pokemon Centers are a terrible idea, they basically take away any teambuilding aspect when challenging gym leaders or the Elite Four, making Pokemon games even easier than they already are currently.

Regarding HMs, I think if we were given an extra 4 moveslots for each Pokemon that are exclusive to the overworld while still being to teach our Pokemon the HMs that we would actually want to use in battle, like Surf and Waterfall, that would be a better mechanic than what we currently have.

Regarding Gym Leaders, I'm perfectly fine with them remaining monotype, but you could up the difficulty for them just by having smarter AI and better movesets and better teambuilding overall

Ex: Electric Gym Leader sents out Raichu Turn 1, player sends out Rhyhorn; Gym Leader switches into Rotom Wash predicting a STAB move like Bulldoze/Dig/Earthquake.

Having nicer gyms would be nice, mainly because i'm tired of the normal 8 gyms why cannot different types get different gyms, the 8 could still be required but the rest could be add-ons that are optional. The gyms have to be harder too, inside X and Y the Ice gym was a total pushover, the elite 4 was hard but the champion was a total pushover too. Having portable
PC boxes would be cool too because i'm tired of having to go to the Pokemon center every time I need to switch out Pokemon! Another thing, there should be more moves a Pokemon can learn 6 or 7 at the most for me, i'm tired of having to get rid of a move like Flamethrower just for cut because I need to cut down a tree, or get rid of one of my best flying type moves fir the move fly. Regarding the WIFI Pokemon league, I disagree and agree at the same time, some people don't normally have internet so to them it's useless, like me for example (I have free time at school) that is the only way I can get on the internet, but i agree, because just because some people don't have internet doesn't mean they should ruin the fun for everyone. But the thing I would most want to see is the gyms.

I had the same thought when I thought up the idea. I think a way around this would be that if the portable PC Box was a wrist watch type thing, it would be disabled in the elite four. This would mean that you cannot switch out your Pokemon making it just as difficult as before.
As far as the PC's healing ability that would just have to stop with the portable PC as that would be unfair. I guess the PC Box will still be in the Pokemon Center, you'd just have another version on the go.
The idea was based off of ease to build your team. Say you caught a Pokemon but you didn't have enough space in your party, you'd have to leave the area and go back to the Pokemon center, switch out your Pokemon and go back. I think that that is just a lot of unnecessary effort that can be avoided.

Now that I think of it it could be great as a Post-Game feature since that's when most people begin getting into competitive breeding and what not.

The wifi league could just be a monthly tournament and the winner gets something special (such as a shiny legendary). Don't make participating in one be a requirement to progress the story because, as someone already said, some people, like me, either don't have wifi, or don't have access for lomg enough for them to do something like that.
