What are the differences between male and female pokemon? do they have a slight increase/decrease in stats? Also, which gender of pokemon do you prefer to have in your party? :p

The main difference I see is their appearance (and that too very slightly). The difference in appearance can be barely noticeable ( like pikachu) or something very obvious (like frillish). Some pokemon evolve based on gender (like Wurmple). Others only exist in one gender (Female Kanghaskan, Male Gallade). I dont think genders have much of an influence on the pokemon's stats, the only time I see it matter in battle is when infatuation is involved (aka most annoying status condition).

Well, for one, male Pikachu tails have a flat top while female Pikachu tails have a dent in them. The bandages around male Croagunks are at their stomachs while females have theirs slightly near their chest. Other Pokémon do not have any altered apperances. And I do believe that stats of males are better than the opposite sex. I prefer either kind of gender in my party. The only thing I care about is raising the Pokémon.

You are right except for one thing! Wurmple does NOT evolve by gender!

Now, Mikaya, the are only two differences other than some Pokemon being exclusively of one gender. The first one is that they look different, sometimes just a tiny part may vary (Garchomp) or they may look entirely different (Pyroar/Mewostic). The second one is present ONLY in Pokemon Crystal. Due to a glitch, if the starter is of the opposite gender of that of the player, all it's stats will be 5% higher than they should be. Also, I don't really care about genders (all my Garchomps are females for example). My serious competitive team consists of 3 females and 3 males.

Actually when it comes to Meowstic there is a slight difference in stats for each gender. Male Meowstics have a slightly better special defense stat while female Meowstics receive a special attack boost. The only other difference between the two is their coloring. As for my own preferences when it comes to Pokemon gender...I personally like to have three males and females on my main battling team. When I'm playing for fun though I don't really care.

I like both, exceptance of if a pokemonlooks too ugly or girly I WON'T catch if it's the opposite gender of how it looks.
I won't catch for example a Male Jigglypuff,Dragonair Milotic ect. It's eeeeeesh!
but if they look neutral or the pokemon has a difference for it's genders,I don't care.I love all my pokemon!
(Is there a difference with Fenniken?,I can't play X and Y so...)

About Meowstic, the stats are the same regardless of the gender, but the movesets ARE different! However, it's the only Pokemon to do so.

I'd raise me a male Gardevoir anyday.

There is too much difference in the genders of Pokemon except for a certain few Pokemon (like Combee) and the appearances as well as others that N had listed. Many times encounter rates are different. For some reason I always prefer to catch the female Pokemons though xD

Almost forgot, there is, what is probably what is an intentional joke, the weird case of Azurill! When it evolves, it may change gender! If it's female, there's around 30% chance it will become male! That's some serious manning up it does there!:p:D

I prefer to have mostly males in my party because I'm a sexist bigot because male NPC's use primarily male Pokemon, and female NPC's use primarily female Pokemon. It's the same reason I use only standard Pokeballs, I just do what the NPC's do. Of course, I'm more than happy to have a female Pokemon on my team if it's a Pokemon that is overly feminine or has a high female to male gender ratio.

I think the difference would be their appearance, although sometimes I don't see a difference in appearance on some Pokemon like Zubat, I have no idea what the difference is, but you can easily identify the gender on some Pokemon like Pikachu, its tail will be a heart if it's female and there won't be a heart-shaped tail if it's a male.

I prefer having both male and female Pokemon equally, example: having 3 male Pokemon and 3 female Pokemon.#genderequality

I don't really care what Pokemon is what gender, as long as I don't have a male Gardevoire it's fine. :p

There's also an ability called rivalry, it makes your pokemon deal more damage against oppents of the same gender and less against the opposite gender. kinda like what animals would do in nature, fight for dominance, go easy on the opposite gender.

Exactly how I feel:if I get a male Ralts it WON'T evolve unless I can get him to be a Gallade it's too creepy as a Gardivoire(I even keep my ♀Dranaire from evolving but will catch a male one to evolve him so I can catch em all:Dragonite looks too goofy to be female)

Some species of Pokémon have differences in appearance due to gender in the pokemon games with noticeable differences between the males and females.

For the love of god people, it's getting old! Meowstic has the same stats for both male and female! The only differences are that the two genders have different Hidden Abilities and their learnsets. The ONLY Pokemon that have different evolutions according to their gender are Kirlia, Snorunt, Burmy and Combee. The Nidorans do NOT evolve based on gender! The male and female are two completely different species of Pokemon! The ONLY thing that connects the two Pokemon and their evolutionary families, besides the name. Moving on, there are a couple of moves and abilities that depend on the gender of both the user and the opponent. The moves are Attract and Captivate and the abilities are Cute Charm and Rivalry. Finally, there are two jokes that may be intentional or not throughout the series. The first one I mentioned in an earlier post is Azurill, which can become male if female 30% of the time when evolving prior to Gen 6. The second one is Mr. Mime being able to be either gender, thus it's possible to have a female "Mr."Mime.:p The above are all the real and not purely aesthetic differences between genders. Sorry if I took this a bit too seriously guys.
