Mario Kart Mario Kart 8 for Switch

I didnt see a topic for this, so Id like to discuss it

So Im loving this image for 2 reasons: Its got King Boo and its got a Double Item slot. King Boo wasnt in Mario Kart 8 Wii-U, so the chances of getting more characters for the ported Switch version is critically high. Also, we can now hold two items again! Mario Kart 8 Wii-U limited you to hold only one, which made it harder to defend yourself in most situations, but with the double items theres going to be more hectic racing and rage on the track.

Why are we talking about MK8 while it might be MK9?

This seems like good new features that could justify a new sequel with new tracks and all =3

Aye, seems quite likely it'll be a new Mario Kart. Especially to create a game built with the whole portability so two friends can play against each other on the move with the same console or in front of the TV.

The dual item system lol, two bananas instead of one now! Yay! But it does look like a pretty cool system

Id like to add that there are some consistencies with the Mario Kart Switch footage and Mario Kart 8. Chances are that they are porting some Wii-U games to the Switch. (Like Mario Maker and Yoshis Woolly World on 3DS).

Bringing back content from a previous game doesn't mean that it's not a full new game though, it's still a possibility!

I agree. However, I say that it's a port simply because of the fact that Nintendo is already porting WiiU games. The top 2 examples are Mario Maker and Yoshi Woolly World. And with Woolly World, they are adding new content to it :3 Just my thoughts on it.

Don't forget that the track is Yoshi Circuit (Which has been remade twice)

Hmm... I can't tell if this is a new Mario Kart game, or just an improved port of Mario Kart 8. The graphics look very similar, and the menus look the same, but this may just be a test version that they made for the reveal trailer. Only time will tell regarding this one, but I can say for sure that King Boo is looking great in HD!
