Gold parts
In MK8 there are many secrets and shortcuts to find and see. Golden parts are one of the secrets you can find. There are 3 golden parts; the standard gold kart, the golden wheels, and the gold glider. Here are their stats, and how you get them ranged after difficulty:​

Easy​
The golden wheels! To get the golden wheels, all you have to do is beat the time trial ghost on all the courses. You will not need to finish the dlc courses.
Medium​
The gold standard kart! To get the golden standard kart, you have to complete ever grand prix with one gold star on every cup and on every difficulty. You will not need to finish the dlc courses.
Hard​
The gold glider! To get the gold glider you have go pick up 10k golden coins from the courses. WARNING!!! This will take a long time, so if you have an active social life, be careful! You can check how many golden coins you have collected, by looking at the stats on the menu screen, or you can count yourself. Good luck...

I don't think that gotting the golden glider is hard. Anyone can get the golden glider, that is not challenging, although this takes a lot of time! The only thing that you have to do is play, play, and play again! Getting coins is super easy!

Also, it's hard to get the golden wheels. That's because i never beat a time trial ghost. There are 32 stages at all, and I never beat a ghost. I have this mario kart 8 game since july 14, 2014. I have 0% progress in this!

you can also get gold wheels with coins, but you need 15 000
 
I just unlocked golden parts in Mario Kart 8, I had the golden kart for completing every grand prix with a star.

For the glider just go on toad harbor and camp behind the Mario trolley. The one that spews three coins and about 90 per lap
 
In order to unlock the gold karts you must get a start in every single track in the Grand Prix mode. Furthermore you will also need to do the achieve the same on the Mirror Mode tracks. You unlock Mirror Mode once you’ve achieved a Gold Trophy in every Grand Prix Cup including 3 stars for each.
