Amiibo are right around the corner. So, since amiibo are compatible with Mario Kart 8, I want you guys to think: "What will the amiibo do?"
 
I think Amiibo could create possibilities for exclusive characters, tracks, and more.

I feel like that might be a little cheap for those who don't care for Amiibo. Plus, Nintendo originally stated that they want Mario Kart 8 to be as balanced and fair as possible.

Yeah, that's very likely.
 
Well, it could be anything.
 
One of the features of Amiibo in Mario Kart 8 will Most likely be an alternate, tougher CPU that you as well as others can race. Whatever the Amiibo are used for, it will be cool and it will be unique to the game! Let's hope Amiibo don't break easily!
 
My best guess is that the Amiibos will work exactly like they do in Smash Wii-U; They learn how to race exactly like you so they become a formidable opponent for when you race.

...y'know, that last one seems legit.
Wait, I think they said somewhere that using a Link figure in Mario Kart that he will appear in-game.
I think one of the IGN wikis said that.

At the very least, I think it would be cool if the Amiibos saved your favourite vehicle customization so you can use it with that character even if you go to someone else's home. That'd be convenient, though I am not sure if it'd be fair.

The idea brought by @SuperMii3D of a harder CPU that learns your way of racing (and item behaviour I presume) sounds really cool.

Hmmmm, still at a loss. The DLC comes out in November, just about the same time as Amiibo.

Perhaps is just an observation of that. There is a Link Amiibo that will be available after all, so probably we will be able to use it with the game as soon as the DLC becomes available.

NEWS FLASH: Walmart stores are showing off amiibo right now! They've even got compatibility charts, and it says who's compatible so far!
Yeah...no Link for MK8. So far.

I think amiibo will be in the form of DLC with exclusive characters (Nabbit Plz) and Kart parts. Like you put the Nabbit In a Kart (3 new kart parts) on the gamepad, you get access to nabbit and 3 new parts which can in fact be separated. either that or all the new characters confirmed for dlc like link, isabelle, tanooki mario, ect will get there own amiibo. at least thats what I think MK8 amiibo will be like!

I am hoping that we will get cool exclusive tracks that are little figures. Kinda similar to how there are special skylanders figures that open up special stages. But I hope that there aren't ant super exclusive Amiibos that you can only get for pre ordering specific games or contests. I want all the different ammiibos to be available to everyone at all times. Unlike the other figure based games like sky landers or Disney infinity.
