Just out of fun...:)

Well, for the ones who like Mario games maybe, but if you ask me I'd say no since I don't like Mario games :p

Well I think it would just be harder to make the games if it was 3D. Is there just going to be an option for blocks or slopes? Would you be able to switch between games like Sunshine, SM64, and Galaxy? I can't see how there could be an editor for creating a whole planet or a group of small planets. What would be neat to see is Amiibo functionality.

In theory it sounds like a good idea; there's plenty of creativity to be had if there's an extensive amount of tools to utilize from the differing 3D Mario games. However, like Super Mario Maker, most aspects and items from each aesthetic must somehow be able to transfer over from game to game. Nintendo could definitely pull it off, I believe. xP

Maybe on Mario's 50th Anniversary we'll get this lol.

I'd wait for NX to make a new Mario Maker.

Sure, something awesome could be done with the N3DS's specs, but remember that Ninty would most likely have to make it with O3DS in mind too, and that'll seriously limit the scope of the game with it's outdated processor and ram.

Yes! I'd make the levels and my sister could beat them! Finally I could make Mario levels that I could beat more easily than she. Life's hard when player 2 beats you at every try. :p

No, just Mario Maker on the 3DS

i think it's be pretty difficult. For starters, to make a diverse set of challenges, they'd have to add lots of possible things to put. If they did that, I think it might be fun. it'd take a long time to make a half-decent level. There could be race levels and stuff too. Amiibo functionality would be fun. I think that boss levels would be extremly fun to play and make. :p

Mario Maker on the 3DS would be possible but limited, even if it's for the New 3DS :p But it'd be cool to create levels on the 3DS and share them online. For someone like me who doesn't have a Wii U, then I could only hope to see such a thing. I've always wanted to play Mario Maker xP

I think nintendo woulndt do it because its one of the wiiu best games, and that could cause sales to decrease (altrougth they arent too high)

if they wanted, they could do it with the only decrease of graphics qualiti (because of obvius reasons) 3ds can run a 2d game easily

It would be cool, but it would take a reworked engine and more powerful hardware for something like that. You can't pack mario 64, mario sunshine, and mario 3D world all in one game. Even if the wii u was powerful enough the levels would be time consuming as heck. Each 3D mario level is unique and with this it will be hard to do that.

depends if you mean for the 3ds or 3d in general if you mean 3ds it might not be able to handle that kind of thing because of hardware limitations but f you mean 3d in general that would be great it could work like the portal 2 level maker i can imagine it now one block parkour with mario 64 ^.^ wait. on second thought NO THANK YOU *runs away*

Well I wanted to brainstorm what the thread's head said; "Mario Maker 3D" but that's a typo and the host wants to talk about Mario Maker 3DS, but everybody's chatting about a Mario Maker 3D...

Gah! I give up! I can't brainstorm in these conditions!

If they downsized the Wii U version and made a sort of mini version of Mario Maker for the 3DS, it would work out, but only for the N3DS perhaps. But there are some games which would not work well on smaller consoles. They're called exclusives for a reason. xD

On less powerful consoles, not smaller :p

The 3ds beats out the N64 by miles while being far, far smaller. And matches the GC

Perhaps they could make a Mario Maker for 3ds. It would definitely have to be for the New Nintendo 3ds XL. Probably anyway, maybe it could fit on the standard 3ds but imo I don't think it would work. I wouldn't buy it but I could see other Pedians wanting the game. I don't really enjoy it tbh.

Just as mario kart make this would be dumb and hard you could only have a gamemode as each 3d mario game has its own different mechanics so it wouldnt work and if you are talking about a 3ds version, it would be limited, it would have to be different, i would say if it was for the 3ds the modes should be super mario land, super mario land 2: the 6 golden coins, super mario bros 2 and new super mario bros :p

I think it would be the best 3ds game if they made a super Mario maker game for the 3ds. If they made the game that would be a game that I would play my whole life, I would play it every day every week for the rest of my life. So as you can see having super Mario maker as a 3ds game would be the best in my list
