Mario Tennis Aces will have a pre-launch online tournament. We know it's going to be held between June 1 at 6 PM through June 3 at 11:59 PM in Japan. No details about the west have been revealed yet :eyes:

New trailer:

I'm hoping the pre-launch online tournament is like an ARMS testpunch or a Blazblue Cross Tag Battle demo.

I was hoping it was this month, but can't wait to try this. It's my most hyped switch game for the first half of the year. Loving how the story mode is shaping up to be. Lots of different environments and types of challenges. Will definitely try the online beta for this , hope the online is smooth. If it is then I might get this digital.

Lets hope they tell us when it is soon, cause it would be fun. They also need to update us on the status of the dark souls beta

Btw it has been announced that its the same time in the west. Apparently you can play in the tournament as many times as you want so its more of a beta letting you try the tournament mode, than a big tournament that everyone gets to play in. Also you can unlock marios normal outfit (overalls) in the full game if you play one game in the tournament.

YAS.

Nintendo revealed the playable characters that will be available in the demo:
Nintendo said:
Mario

The famous mustachioed hero appears with a new tennis outfit! Mario is an All-Around character type in this game. He’s a good character to start with because he’s well-balanced – both his shots and speed are solid.

Yoshi

Yoshi is a Speedy character. Utilizing Yoshi’s fast legs, you can quickly catch up to balls far away from you!

Peach

Peach, the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, is a Technical character. She has excellent ball control, great footwork, and can easily hit to the far corners of the court. She’s a great character to use if you like making your opponent run from one side of the court to to the other.

Bowser

As you may have assumed from his large size, Bowser is a Powerful character that can dish out shots at very high speeds. Use his strength to keep the pressure on your opponents!
In addition to the four above, you should be able to unlock up to 9 characters in the demo :D

I'm also reading that the demo will be available tomorrow but the online mode will be available next week. So for those who want to test it out, you should be able to download and play offline tomorrow ^-^

I couldn't get it to play offline but I could have missed something :panda:

It kind of sucks how European Switch owners got access to the demo first. They learned the ropes and were a lot better than the NA Switch owners who started playing hours after it was released in Europe.

I love how you can accept or decline challenges when you see your opponent's character. If they had an unlocked character, you knew they were playing for a while and that they'd crush a newbie. So I just skipped through those people and played again newbies like myself. It was extremely fun playing against newbies. I had really intense matches too.

I just disliked the lag. I hope online play gets better when the full game launches.
