Am I the only one who thinks about Marth's appearance changing? I really liked his design used in Melee and Brawl. Then when Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS comes out, everything changes! His hair is shorter, his tunic is different, and his boots have changed, too. What do you guys think about Marth's new look? Do you like it or hate it?

TBH I kinda like it... though Ike's appearance change is better

@Megalegacy Yeah. It kind of grew on me after a while. He looks more like a warrior, too. But I rather the old look because the original is always the best.

I personally like his new design a bit more. His old character model looked too much like a girl :bear:

Actually, I prefer him now aesthetically over the Melee and brawl versions. In Brawl and Melee, Marth had a more bulkier design, with a really wide cloak and different boots. In SSB4, his cloak and his body has been thinned down, which generally means a smaller hitbox for him. I also think that he looks better now, as the cloak added unwelcomed bulk to him.

Well...the main thing I noticed is that his face got sharper? i.e. his chin.

Well, they took away his tiara-looking-crown, so that's good (at least it's not as noticeable now if it's still there), since everyone that saw him in Melee and didn't know what Fire Emblem was thought he was a female. But I guess it's even more believable now, with Lucina's charade in Awakening and all.

I noticed he had changed. I think he looks similar to lucina. (Lucina looks like a man close up) I think they tweaked Martha fact a bit to fir Lucina. Or vice versa.

His clothes looked brighter than brawl lol And they should've kept the Dark tone of the game from brawl lol The subspace Emissary is awesome too and they should've added a story mode in Smash 4 lol Seeing Nintendo characters interact with each other like they did in Brawl, like the cinematics, looks awesome lol

i think they made him look more like a guy because in brawl everyone thought he was a chick

I haven't seen Martha design in previous games so I thought that he looked pretty cool in this game. At least he has feet instead of some other fire emblem characters (cough cough all the characters in fire emblem awekening) :p

I love Marth's appearance, as well as Ike's appearance in the new Smash Bros. game! I mean, Marth's appearance, I believe, was taken from Shadow Dragon for the DS & Ike's from Radiant Dawn. They both look great!

Marth's design in Smash Bros. 4 is actually based on his appearance in New Mystery of the Emblem, the second DS Fire Emblem. There are only a few differences between his New Mystery and Shadow Dragon design though.

Personally, I don't like his appearance in any Smash game. He looks much too feminine to me in all of them, especially in Brawl and in Smash Wii U.

I have not played any Fire Emblem games, but I have played Brawl and 4. I prefer Marth's Brawl style over 4's Marth style. I mean, I don't really love it, I don't really hate it either. So....yeah, Marth's Brawl appearance I prefer. Same thing goes for Ike.
