Actually the distribution ended Feb. 24th. BUT! On the back of the card for North America at least in the fine print you have until May 31, 2016 to redeem the code.

I can confirm this also. The event ends on May 31st, but the distribution of the code cards themselves ended on Feb 24th. But it's an understandable misconception to make since you need to read the fine print on the back to know that.
