Well that is really weird even though they can put "stuff" in it so, true dat, true dat.According to ... um... whats her name... that older girl at the ranch, she gives her little sister the milk so she "wont remember anything" about the explosion that is going to kill them all. It is heavily implied in multiple points in the game that the supreme milk or whatever is actully alcoholic, i think someone asks link if he is old enough for it, besides the name of the place is literally "milk bar", so this guy is actully drunk. You can put alcohol in anything, but milk is just ... wierd, yet very possible.
Ok now it makes sense thank you for answering I'm finally piecing it togetherIt's not uncommon for games to censorship alcoholic beverages as something less tame, but it appears that the entire point of the Milk Bar and Chateau Romani even in the Japanese version is that the milk is specifically making them drunk. (Although the pun here is that they're "drinking" milk, which can mean you're drinking alcohol instead of it just being regular drinking.) According to Cremia in the game, the cows they have in Romani Ranch are "specially bred" to output this forbidden milk. This is probably why those cows are so important during the alien side mission.
While it's not exactly cows they usually do this with, there is some basis to this in real life. There's a brand of alcoholic beverage called kumis that utilises mare milk's higher sugar content above cows and goats during a fermentation process. The result is a mild alcohol milk beverage that requires no added purified alcohol to the mix.
Even then, it's not unlikely that the milk is processed with an alcohol (which would take some time and effort) and is then shipped to the Milk Bar. This would also explain why those milk jars are so important to Romani; literally breaking just one of them would lead to wasted time and money on a mixing process that ultimately got wasted. And as for milk mixing with alcohol, it's very possible and works well with alcohol. I myself have even tried a brand of alcohol that's designed to be mixed with milk, and it does taste a lot better with milk than not.
