Has anyone else seen this? I don't think it'll be released in the west for a while and it doesn't seem to be a new 3ds exclusive.

That's a lot of games...
Monster Hunter Stories (2016), Monster Hunter Frontier G8 (Japan: July 22, 2015) and now, Monster Hunter X (announced a few hours ago...) and MH Diary: Poka Poka Felyne Village DX and Monster Hunter Spirit...

O.O that... was... AMAZING!!!! but where was the poogie and the insect glaive ;-;
i also love that their bringing back at least some of the old areas and monsters :D

I get it... Its a cross between old and new :D
If Poogie and IG are gone, Imma be mad, though...
What was the stick that got rammed into the ground and released the sparkle effect, though?
If we're lucky, maybe it'll get here late 2016

I still can't believe it! I don't even have monster hunter 4 ultimate cause I am finishing mh3u, But i don't think it'll be released this year. What is it then, two monster hunter games for the same year?
Don't think my wallet would even resist that ahahah

It won't release this year outside of Japan. That would be a terrible business move. Japan gets a new MH game every year because it's huge over there, but over here it isn't nearly as big. They don't even release a MH game EACH year like they do in Japan, let alone 2 in one year.

If the trailer is indicative of anything for sure, it's that the 3ds is going to be getting a lot more awesome come 2016/2017 (fingers crossed). 3ds exclusive maybe? Capcom seems to be focusing a lot more on Monster Hunter as of late, I like it.
Late to the thread due to not knowing about this until just now.

I heard somewhere that each weapon will be getting new "styles", or ways to use them. If this is expressed in the trailer, perhaps these "styles" are the new wystones, being special moves equippable by certain weapons that have cooldown times to them. If this is true, then the first is the sort of double jump attack used by the great sword and light bowgun.
Next up would be the charge forward attacks used by the lance and dual blades. (I don't count this as a jump attack because it can't lead to a potential mount if mounting returns from 4u)
The next is a kind of spinning aoe attack, used by the sword and shield, charge blade, and dual blades.
Then, a standard charge attack, used by the long sword, hammer, and hunting horn. The spin doesn't do damage, so I don't count it as the same as the sword and shield's.
Another is the sort of aoe explosion, like the light bowgun and gunlance's.
Lastly, a self buff, used by the bow and insect glaive.
Perhaps these can be mixed, as the great sword seems to use a charge attack followed by a self buff when his sword is sheathed.

New moves aside, the blue tent seen appears to be the new base camp. If this is indeed the new base camp, then the yian kut ku seen towards the end of the trailer suggests that monsters can now enter your starting area.

Small side notes, many areas from 4 seem to be returning, like the seaway, hollow, etc. Many old towns also seem to be returning, like the towns from the first game, from freedom unite, and from portable 3rd. Also, new poogie type animal, and new starting gear. And some monsters that were left out from 3u are back, like the nibelsnarf, along with some new monsters, like green-bird-jaggi-drome.

But, seriously Capcom, I just got to G-rank bronze crown in 4u, why must you do this to me?

I hope that this game would be able to play online like 4.

+ there seems to be a little more magical things in this game than in any other of the series.

It looks like MH4U with more 'in-detail' weapons. Those weapons were kewl ;3 That glaive was a gun or something, and then that other stuff, it was kewl ;3. But, I only saw two new monsters or so, that don't look fun ;3

It seems kind of weird that they would release a game so similar to MH4U that close to the previous release. I think it could be the exact same thing except with a variety of features. Either that or MH4U could have been the beta test for MHX, in the same way that SSB4 for the 3ds was a test for the Wii U

This should probably help explain it.

Oh yeah that makes a lot more sense. I always thought the MH series was just as popular over here as it was in Japan.
