Moon/Sun More about the Sun and Moon legendaries

The sun legendary: Solgaleo is a Psychic/Steel type. To me it fits but I'm a but confused to why one of its typings isn't fire as it's the SUN legendary. It has ability 'full metal body' and from the game footage I think means that he can't get his stats lowered as Salamance's intimidate had no effect. His signature move is 'Sunsteel strike' which looks amazing and must be a steel type as it hit neutral on Salamance, although I would't mind if it was both a steel and fire attack. Overall Solgaleo looks amazing!

The moon legendary: Lunala is a Psychic/Ghost type. The only down side is its x4 weakness to ghost which scares me. With the ability 'shadow shield', however, I believe that it negates ghost type attacks. I'm just guessing here as I don't know but it makes sense to me. It also has a signature move called 'moongeist beam' which is probably a ghost type but could also be psychic as it hits Gengar super effectively!

Well if anything I'm glad this has dispelled thoughts of the legendaries having a new type all of a sudden. We just got Fairy type this gen so it seems hasty to assume another is fast on its way.

Not only ghost type attacks, but dark as well.

So the Sun legendary is weak to fire and the Moon legendary is weak to dark >.<

It says on Serebii that Shadow Shield greatly lowers the power of an attack at full HP, making it basically Multiscale.

And what's weird is that not only is Solgaleo not a fire type, but it will actually be weak to fire due to the steel typing. I'm not entirely sure what Gamefreak was thinking there.

Well, it's the same for the night bat legendary. Dark type moves hit it x4. Maybe there is a reason behind it.

When I saw Solgaleo's Sunsteel Strike it kinda reminded me of Reshiram's Fusion Flare It IS rather strange that Solgaleo isn't a Fire as I anticipated but the typing is ok but could've have potential by being something else. Lunala is cool too. Time for me to try to familiarize myself with these names xD

Solgaleo has a cool design, but its typing is so underwhelming. I would've expected it to have a Fire typing since it's the Sun legendary, but nope. I guess I should know by now to expect this sort of thing from Game Freak, but I don't. Sunsteel Strike sounded like it was not very effective against a Salamence at full health though. Maybe I just thought I heard the sound for a not very effective move, but that's what I heard; I'd have to listen to the trailer again to know for sure.

Lunala, on the other hand, I'm not a huge fan of. I just don't really like its design, tbh.

Solgaleo's ability is basically just Clear Body though, and Lunala's is basically Multiscale, at least according to Serebii. I feel like Game Freak's just getting lazier with these abilities. n_n

I was too. But since Solgaleo isn't a Light type, then I'd say that pretty much deconfirms a Light type, sadly.

We don't really need a new type anytime soon anyway. Lunala's typing is interesting and I hope to see how they'll issue the 4x weaknesses if that's on their plate at all.

I am happy that they made new legendary's for these two games. Remember pokemon black-and-white they switched up the legendary so when you got Pokémon why you got zekrom me when you got but you won't like you got Reshiram. My grandmother actually purchased the game for me but I don't know if she got me Pokémon moon or Pokémon son who is a complete mystery to me but either or I am happy that I will be receiving the game. Another hope I have for the game is that they don't keep using the same legendary's from previous games I want them to develop new and improved legendary Pokémon.
