Ok, admit it: there was at least one or two times in your life of playing pokemon games that you spent hours trying to keep up with and catch certain pokemon (talking runaways here). Do not worry, i have too. I will share my story here.

After first encountering a wild latias in pokemon emerald, i adored her cute face and looks. Awww she so cute:3 i still think she is cute in the face, i will not lie. I like her for the cutie face, and latios for his cool looks. Moving on, i was quickly caught off guard in this first encounter, quickly learning that she is an runaway and seeing her flee on first turn, in my failed attempt to weaken her and catch her. After that the battle ended no contest, and i wasnt really mad as much as shocked and kinda weirded out being caught off guard like that.

After i learned how to track her everchanging location, i learned to trick the game into having her come right in my direction, thus granting me another opportunity to try again here. However, i spent hours on hours repeating this process, failing over and over again all because she flees immediately at the beginning of the encounter each time, making it a major complication on my end. After trying for about 3 hours with little or no results, i decided it was time to stop playing games and get serious here, seeing i wasnt making much if any progress here. I had to come up with a plan to end this bullcrap once and for all, and catch that latias i so badly desired. I refused to give up, being eager to make her my next legendary in my arsenal of pokemon, and ultimately lead me to my eternal era of glory on emerald i reign with even now.

Instead of continuing chasing her, i went to a pokemon center to access my pc box. I looked through my pokemon in my pc, and stopped dead on my lv. 56 crobat. I examined her summary, and viewed her moveset, one move quickly sparking a brilliant idea in my head: mean look! So i just kinda sat there a bit, thinking hard about how i would execute my plan, trying to come up with a master plan here that i know would work no matter what. And so, i did: i would start by using mean look on latias and then weaken her from there and begin throwing poke balls after until this troublesome lady was mine once and for all. Luckily for me, i had plenty of spare money to buy recovery items that would help me keep my beautiful crobat in the game here long enough to finish the job i speak of here. So, i put my crobat at the head of my party, and went to the nearest poke mart to fill up on recovery items. I was already flooded with a variety of poke balls, so i didnt need to buy any of those here. Then after that, i resumed my latias chase, despite my slight doubt of my darling crobat had the necessary speed to trap latias in the battle with mean look. I knew i had to try, because endless chasing and attempting one turn catches on her with no master ball got me nowhere and wasnt working well at all.

So once i tricked her into bumping me into a battle, my intent and determination skyrocketed instantly. I had a look not very different from the one below on my face at the time:

^ this is literally the expression i had on my face at the time. I was mad and intent on finishing this once and for all and get me what i wanted (i use orochimaru cuz i have a dark heart and personality not very different from his, nothing more. This darkness in me is what i refer to when i call myself the "Black Rose Beauty", which is the name ive given myself and proudly bear to this very day hehe :sneaky: ). Of course, my first move this time was to attempt landing mean look on the wild latias, and i got the first strike (thank god!!!). So the main stage was complete, i had her trapped in the battle now. Of course, i then began hitting her with my weakest possible moves to avoid killing her, and still get her low enough to allow me a slightly easier time catching her. I threw ball after ball, many of them which she broke out of rather quickly (she's legendary. What else should i expect here?). I spent at least 1.5 hours here, only this time i had her trapped in the battle and unable to flee since i had my crobat out and was continuously and relentlessly working to keep her alive, as i could not afford a single mistake in this battle. Cuz if my darling dies here, its all over. And i wasnt going out like that, not me (how could i? What kind of player would i be if i let my enemies win like that?).

After a lot of time passed, i finally had caught her. It was not easy, as i spent hours on end trying to finally finish this and cut the bullcrap once and for all. The only reason i remember so much here is because of how tiring and exhausting this was, with all of the running around i had to do here. It was a frikkin pain in the neck: i mean it. I wasnt angry here at all while i was doing this however, just got exasperated and wanted it to be over more than anything else. It was a long and tiring job, as you can probably see here. So tell me, guys.... have any of you had similar struggles chasing rumaways and trying to beat them at their own game? I have many times, i know it is not fun and quickly gets tiring repeating the same process over and over, pretty much being forced into doing the same thing over and over, with little progress, if any.

Me honestly it's any Pokémon that just flees! I remember it was pretty annoying when I tried to catch Raikou in SoulSilver.

I kept encountering him, the battle beginning and....he flees. I remember hunting him down searching all over and becoming excited when I found him...only to have him runaway!

I had looked up how to keep him from running online, and I had gotten myself a Pokémon with Mean Look. When I encountered Raikou again it was shiny and I was excited because I was still learning about shiny Pokémon. However when I lowered it enough to catch it...I didn't have any Pokéballs....and it ran away due to fainting.

I eventually caught it though it wasn't shiny this time.

Uggggh omg man! I can only imagine how trolling that really felt :panda: i mean, finding it shiny and weakening it, after hours of chasing him.....only to get stuck with no poke balls. :panda: i mean come on tho....that had to be very aggravating. :( boy i feel sorry for you, what the game pulled on you there is just TOO trolling. :panda: i actually think thats worse than me tossing magikarps into wt all the time in xy, kek :cat: and i do admit i do that, as bad as its looked upon as. Idc tho, i do as i please, regardless of what everyone else thinks, cuz that's just me. I do what i want when i want. :cat: still tho, i feel horribly bad you couldnt catch that raikou when he was shiny. That wouldve had my fury at its peak if it were me, id literally scream out of rage if something that awful happened to me on a game, i mean it tho :panda: even i cant laugh at such a loss..... :panda:

My story isn't so painful compared to some other people's, but here goes:

There I am in Pokemon X's story mode, right, in the tall grass in the woods in this little fenced area near that place where the guy tells you that lame haunted house story. A wild Jigglypuff appears. Since I know this Pokemon from the anime, I just have to have it, but my first attack makes it faint. "No matter," I say, putting a lower-level Pokemon at the front of my squad.
I spend an hour, quite literally an hour, going around the tall grass in that area and every wild Pokemon you may or may not know of pops out and gets knocked out by me, but no other. Jigglypuff.
I gave up. I never did get that Jigglypuff.

Oh dear....that had to suck. It might be something rather easy to get from the gts, tho. You may even be able to chance getting one in wt (tho beware of trolls who give their pokes they throw here dirty names, or just a stupid name). Just thought i would say that to make you feel better. I bet you could just hatch any lv. 1 starter you have and offer it on gts and ask for jiggypuff, most likely. Not sure tho, never did it. :panda: but its an idea, you can try it if you like! ;)
