Always think positively!
Towns Folk
You may often see Captain Falcon,Little Mac,Ike,Link and others being used by most competitive Smash players around, but you may also wonder about certain characters who,you think, don't get enough attention and care from Smash players, mostly because of the moveset or general concept they're going for,and that's sad, really.
To me,I'd say the following characters are a bit underestimated by players I fight against worldwide:
Yoshi:Compared to other characters,Yoshi is,from my perspective,a top tier character who's left behind by players probaly because of some of his moves, and his recovery special. For one,he's decent on speed and attack range, and for two,his up-special is supposed to be used as projectiles, since his double jump is already fairly high,so I guess he could get around the likes of Diddy Kong players if they know how to use him correctly.
R.O.B.:Underestimated by most people because of his general moveset,R.O.B. is a special case of a fighter judged from his appearence outside of Smash, being a NES accessory for Gyromite and Stack-Up.R.O.B's gameplay is pretty solid and fun to use,if played properly, with wide range for attacks and decent amount of power. This character's air gameplay is where R.O.B.'s potential shines a bit further, with powerful meteor smashes and attacks, even if a bit hard to land.Like I saw on another site,it's one of those cases where it's a "low risk, high reward" type of move.
Donkey Kong:Being one of the heavyweight characters from the roster,DK is quite a unrecognized force by the Smash community, but a great power beholds this big tie-wearing monkey. All of DK's attacks give a big fair ammount of damage, and he even has two meteor smashes to use while on air!He also has some nice combos to manage,so of you're a competitive Smash player you likes really powerful gameplay and offensive moveset, than Donkey Kong is here, and you should at least give him a chance if you're the type of person who likes this type of game style.
These are my examples of some characters from SSB4 who I think are misjudged for wrong reasons, causing them to fall on the underrated character department.I'd like to know what fighters you think are underrated as well,so feel free to post what you think regarding this topic!
