Here's some a working vid of pieces this person and I found:
Is there any reason for these similarities? FYI members from Creatures Inc. were once part of Ape Inc. but I don't think they were composers... Or were they? I don't know this one so I'll have you answer that one.

As you said, Creatures Inc. was formerly a part of Ape Inc. who made the Mother/Earthbound series. Since they own the rights for the music, I think they wanted to give a sensation of "déjà-vu" to players who would have played the game (I played the game a long time ago, but didn't notice it though).

--> So, it's totally possible that some of the composers who worked on Mother/Earthbound now works on Pokémon.

yeah Creatures inc was part of ape inc and they both produced games together , so the sound tracks too , i guess the producers really liked the sound track so they probably just mixed it up a bit to give it a different tune :p

Yes they have the same style to it but unless you are a little specific on which theme it is I don't think music was borrowed from Galaxy.

I'm sorry for bumping this thread but this is worth noting:

This is found at the beginning of Mother 3. Now let's pretend this was to represent Pokemon Black and Pokemon White (yes I know Zekrom is Black but he has quite a bit of grey on him).

So, there's a mystical force at work, one that operate unbeknownst to us. It is waiting, growing stronger, and one day it will reveal itself...

Pretty cool to see the team drop in a couple easter eggs like that. Maybe it is hinting at something about a potential Mother 4.

This time on Pikachu Wright: Ace Trainer we discover new musical similarities AND they weren't composed by the same people so I'm thinking other than the name of the PWAADD music it is no way related to Pokemon and some person on Youtube apparently thinks they sound the same (but honestly I don't really think they are besides the sounds of the instruments the same composition). Maybe you can catch something I can't but I am guilty of putting this on here without real reason.

And can someone tell me this one guy is wrong on both videos please because I do not have a Youtube account. (Click watch on Youtube.com on the video)

Once again sorry for bumping this very amazing thread made by yours truly but again there is even more unrecognized references a few people found or said on Youtube. Also ponder this. Dragonspiral Tower = Road to Hell. Tower of Heaven/Celestial Tower = Stairway to Heaven. This stuff is dark. Anyways I'm getting off topic. Here's what you asked for:
They no doubt have the same melody and theme. Can someone explain this? Maybe people from GF worked on Chrono Trigger or the remake or maybe GF was lazy or maybe GF appreciates RPG music or there's some deeper meaning. GF didn't slack when making these games and added a whole new layer of lore.
