AC:NL My Animal Crossing: New Leaf game has been freezing?

I'll be like, doing stuff in my inventory, and when I exit, the game just gets stuck?
Like, the map won't even show up on the bottom screen and I'm just stuck with the look you get on your face when you're still in your inventory.
None of the buttons work at that point and I have to press and hold the power button, but then the screen goes black and the audio keeps playing?
Has this happened to anybody?

is it just your animal crossing game or does your 3ds do this with other games as well?
 
It's only New Leaf. I've been playing other games and that's the only one that's been messing up. It only started today, and I haven't played since it started. I'm hoping that if I go back to it tomorrow it will be fixed. Once my 3DS's touch screen just didn't work for a week but it was fine after that so I'm hoping it'll just kind of fix itself?
 
if it continues your cartridge might be damaged DO NOT TAKE IT APART you can buy a downloadable version and transfer your save data. but if your 3ds in general is getting strange glitches I would call/email nintendo.
 
I think it's fine for now? I booted it up today and it's working now. It might happen again but I hope it doesn't. It's deinitely not my 3DS because it's a new 3DS though.

This happened to my friend. Either your game is corrupt, 3ds is messed up, or you play it too much
