Doctor Strange

Towns Folk
I've known Pokémon all of my life since I was a baby. I was two when I was first introduced to this wonderful franchise. For my entire childhood, 3-11, I was in love with Pokémon. I would watch the anime on Cartoon Network and Toonami with the Cartoon Cartoons and One Piece and Dragon Ball Z and collected the trading cards.I basically acted like a 90's kid with Pokémon except I was obsessed with Generation 3, not Generation 1. I remember borrowing my friend's Pokémon Ruby cartridge and I played it a lot on my DS.
But the first Pokémon game I actually owned was Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness. I know, sad. But when I played it, I was loving the heck out of it. It was even the video game to make me cry. For once, a video game's story compelled me and made me have an emotional attachment to my player Pokémon which was a Chimchar named bob. What!? I was 8 at the time. But the first mainstream Pokémon game I owned was Pokémon Soulsilver. I played it a lot, and even more than Mystery Dungeon. I beat both games and thoroughly had fun with them. But when Generation 4 ended, the excitement slowly declined...
When Generation 5 came, I didn't hate it and I never played any of the games, but I just didn't feel like playing Pokémon anymore. Maybe it was me growing up and having different tastes, but I didn't do anything related to Pokémon from then on. Buy the games, watch the anime, read the manga, or use the cards. I cared more about school, other anime and TV shows, and I grew as a gamer. But when Generation 6 came, that childhood glee of Pokémon came back to me when I first inserted that cartridge into my 3DS. I beat the entire game and that's it.
So what do I think of Pokemon now? Its good and introduced me to gaming, but its more of a nostalgic memory of childhood than anything in my present, so thank you Pokémon for making me the gamer I am today.
