Names that you give your Pokemon

The way I choose nicknames follows a (usually) long process of looking up name meanings or any connection it may have to be referenced. And then immediately forget my somewhat cohesive logic process when it's brought up in public.

Or I just do something like PMartian (Pink Martian) for Clefairy and SBadger (Sand Badger) for Sandshrew. Nothing is consistant.

The only good Pokemon name I have given to my Pokemon, was my Gothitelle, named Checkmate :p It made since because it had Trcik, Choice Specs, and msot of all, Shadow Tag! My very first Pokemon was my Piplup I named "Lovely" :eek: in Pokemon platinum I was young OK :/

When I played Diamond, I named my Pokemon after Square Enix characters. In Black 2, I picked scientific names for my Pokemon.
