Natsume Community Manager, CeeCee, has revealed that Nintendo is still working on bringing GameBoy Advance Virtual Console support to the Nintendo 3DS. CeeCee says that they can’t release the GBA titles that they wish to release until Nintendo makes it possible.

No, Nintendo does not put recent console games on the 3DS eShop, and sadly that means we cannot either. The same goes with GBA (outside of the ambassador games) — though they’re working on this and we look forward to the day it’s possible. But until that day comes, we aren’t actively working on porting any specific GBA or GameCube games. We’re aware today that Nintendo has announced plans to launch DS games for the WiiU – it’s an exciting time, and we’ll be reviewing our DS catalogue for potential titles.

Yeah, I heard about this last night. I can't wait to buy all of the GBA games I had on my ambassador 3DS that broke. Especially The Minish Cap...

I'm hopeful GBA games will come sooner rather than later - for that matter, I'd like to see overall VC support ramped up.

*Reads the post* If it's true, it will be the best day. Ever.
Perhaps I will finally be able to enjoy my old GBA games on my 3DS, if it's true !

Yeah, Nintendo will gain tons of money too on the GBA Virtual Console for the 3DS, I wish to play Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Final Fantasy VI, Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, Breath of Fire and tons of more, on my 3DS again!

Hmm... If they plan to port the GBA Pokemon games, they can also make some money with it. And it will be a chance for players like me to play the Gen 3 games (And it looks cool).

Ah, there's a lot of great GBA games they can port... If it's true, I'm waiting for an epic VC line-up then !

I know right, I'm getting really hyped on it, I HOPE that Nintendo really comes through, I see they making 2014 a different year, and with GBA VC supported, it will be really awesome. I'm already imagining playing Final Fantasy Tactics!

Sure that it could increase Nintendo's profits !
The GBA had a big library full of great games, so, I guess that's why we're all excited about it !
You imagine yourself playing FF:Tactics, I imagine me playing my old GameBoy Advance games... Like my old copy of LeafGreen or Pokemon MD: Red Rescue Team (Was so far in that game!) (Pokemon), that are now located in the famous place that nobody has found... called 'somewhere'.

@Reece if that's true, I'm waiting for Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, too! And those Megaman franchise will be my wish-list, too. It will cost my budget, but you know? That's why I bought this handheld, because it's portable to play everywhere :D
Maybe they won't release all GBA titles, but only ones according to the market's trend. But that's okay, since it would be nostalgic to play those games again.

Yeah, i thought so too! It would be great to have Megaman BN series on 3DS :p
Because I dont play GBA and jump out to BN5 and BN6 only:oops:
I'd like to play the whole series if I can:p
But the best would be having old pokemon series again its just kind of nostalgic and happiness to play them all again:D

Shall I share the most absurd hope of the day? I hope the DemiKids GBA games make their way on to the 3DS VC. It's impossible of course; I doubt Atlus themselves, who developed and published the DemiKids games, remember them, let alone Nintendo.

Oh well. Obviously GBA VC games are going to happen someday. As long as Pokemon Fire Red makes the cut, all will be fine and dandy.

GBA games will come eventually. Like most, I wish they were here already, but the fact that Natsume says Nintendo are working on them is encouraging. Whatever site said just GBC is mistaken - GBA was certainly mentioned, and the games will certainly arrive.

The Ambassador GBA games prove it is possible and I believe it could prove lucrative for Nintendo. We all have some Ol'favorites that we would love to have on our current playing machines. Personally I would love to carry around the majority of the Metroid library, as well as some of the great SuperNES hits that made that system a force to be reckoned with.

I WOULD LOVE THAT! I always wanted to play games like the original Ruby Sapphire, among others. I :)P) never invested in a GBA, and that would be great. What's taking Nintendo so long?

I'm amazed how people still wants GBA on 3DS (am I the only one?). I'd like to focus on new 3DS games as I love how the graphic develops. But I don't oppose the idea of virtual consoles anyway.
Might be because my GBA SP and GBC are still in working condition and I have a lot of games, so I don't really need a virtual consoles.

I'm also surprised. I think it's an awesome idea, but there aren't too many games that I'd care to bother with if I could just focus on getting newer games with better graphics.
Then again, I don't have a strong love for any old games besides some Playstation and Gamecube ones. v.v
Ape Escape and Harvest Moon anybody? XP

I agree that newer games are cool.....but I have a mad love for the Metroid games and could play them over and over again...especially since I haven't finished the first one and have only finished the others with around 70-75% of everything done or found in most of the others.
