Hey there I just recently got a Retron 5, which is a 5 in 1 console that can play NES games as well as Japanese Famicom games. As I didn't grow up with a NES, I was wondering if you guys could possibly give me some recommendations. I'll definitely be getting the Mega Man games as I love Mega Man, and Super Mario Bros. is definitely on my list. However I was wondering if there are any other games similar to these games that are worthy of me buying. :p

I definitely highly suggest the two Zelda games on the nes! They are so fun and are just amazing! And I also reccomend Sims city (that might be SNES not nes... But I don't remember what I played it on lol)

The first metroid and kid icarus game are also really good if you want to enjoy to roots of those modern games. If you're more intro platforms definitely get the disney games like, duck tales, ducktales 2, darkwing duck. The first castlevania is also a really fun and challenging game. And if you got money spend try to track down Little Samson a true gem on this system.

Don't play Zelda on the NES, it will annoy you and make you want to break the console. It may even make you puke. I'd suggest playing Megaman games, Donkey Kong games, Ninja Gaiden, Mario games, Aladdin (it's a fun game, honestly), Contra series. These are my favorite games on the NES. There are plenty more but I can't remember them all at the moment.

I Definetly recommend Earth bound. You never seem to get bored of it and its fairly easy to beat. Ive got it for wii u and I really enjoyed it.

River City Randsom is a classic beat em up, if you've ever played the "Scott Pilgrim VS the World" videogame, it'll feel very familiar.

Metal Storm is a cool action platformer with some really interesting reverse gravity mechanics...however its quite pricey, and you probably won't find a copy under 60 bucks.

Ghost N Goblins is a game you must experience, merely for the fact that it is one of the hardest games of all time.

Kung Fu, its a pretty fun but repetitive 2D beat em up with some rather hard boss battles and I feel it has some strong replay value as well.

I would recommend getting Metroid, Kid Icarus, Mario, and Donkey Kong. They are really fun and get. Their are so many fum levels. Also you can be really cool and fun characters. That is why I would recommend those NES games.

I my opinion some of the best games on the NES would have to be the Legend of Zelda games. The first Legend of Zelda game was kinda hard with no instructions on what to do, but it is really fun, with a good sense of adventure. The second Legend is Zelda game is probably the most frustrating game in the series. It has weird mechanics, an it was a game where they tried something new, and it didn't quite work.

If you get a chance, then try to get Mother 1, it's a rather interesting game and it shouldn't take to long to beat so I'm hoping that you might be able to enjoy it. Unless you're... scared? Lol jk nothing to be scared about, not until Earthbound that is. Plus Ninten is a cool kid so you'll have fun.

I recommend games like Mega Man, Legend of Zelda, Contra (one of the best action games I have played) and even Metroid (if you are a fan of exploring and getting lost quickly)

Then there are games that are amazing, but frustrating. Im talking about Castlevania and Ninja Gaiden. Great games, but so hard that you want to break something do to your rage. Mega Man is hard and so where other games, but these two almost made me lose myself.
