Do you believe the above claim to be true? State your opinion and some reasoning behind it as well as if you own either of the games or not.

I do think that NES Remix I and II make you better at retro games. The series basically challenges you to accomplish certain tasks within various retro games that bring much nostalgia. You aim to get 3 rainbow stars within each challenge, so you have to do extremely well in order to obtain them. This means failing over and over again simply to get the hang of the challenge. You're basically training yourself through the challenges and becoming the very best at not only the challenges, but the games themselves as the challenges cover almost every single aspect of each retro game. I only own NES Remix I as of right now and am currently completing it. :)

I'm certain they do! It could be debated, but one thing I'm sure of is that newer gamers who play NES Remix end up purchasing some full versions of the included games. By necessity they'd become better retro players!

I still haven't gotten rainbow stars on all the challenges. The original Mario Bros. comes to mind as a tough one, although that's partly due to control quirks.

It can be debated as it mainly depends on the person playing the retro game. (Their age, previous experience with the game, ect.) I'm on the same train as you; not having all rainbow stars yet, but soon enough I will. Super Mario Bros.'s controls are very odd, it makes you wonder if Nintendo purposely did that to increase the overall difficulty of the game, or simply just limited capabilities. And if you think that game is hard, Lost Levels will surely change your mind lol.

I actually meant the port of the arcade version of Mario Bros., not Super Mario Bros. You are correct about Lost Levels - I've always found that game overly difficult. In fact I think everyone does, lol. It's cool to have, but I much prefer Super Mario Bros. 2.

I still need to buy both games...
Still, from videos, I saw the star rating quite easy >.>

I think that NES remix does make you better at retro games. Old platformer/action games like the ones in NES remix were basically all about timng and reacting to certain types of attacks/obstacles in a proper way. This remix focuses on letting you hone your skills by trial and error.
Practice makes perfect, after all.

I wasn't quite sure as I have seen many people say Mario Bros. when they actually mean Super Mario Bros.. My bad. xD

Yep, and that's what makes retro games memorable, usually in a negative way lol.

I know what you mean, the arcade version (from eReader Cards) plays nothing like the MB Advance on I'm used to and does feel different (like comparing the NES feels different from the arcade in terms of responses).
