I have actually never played Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask before. Reason being is because they were either too expensive or I could never find them. Plus after playing a demo of Majora's Mask at Walmart I saw the Happy Mask Salesman and he kind of creeped me out. But now I kind of would like to play both games some day. So has anyone else here not had a chance to play these games? Also what is the very first Zelda game you played? Mine is probably Link to the Past on Nintendo.

Both Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask are amazing Zelda games. Majoras Mask is in my opinion a lot more fun. I would recommend getting ocarina of time first though because some things in majoras mask might not make sense since it comes after ocarina of time in the timeline. I like Majoras Mask more but they are both blast to play. And yeah Majoras Mask has a darker theme than most Zelda games but that makes it more fun. Sometimes its pretty sad. I'm not going to spoil anything though.

I did finish Ocarina of Time but sadly not Majora's Mask as of yet. OoT(3d) was a really fantastic game to play and I liked the story and stuff, I did play a bit of MM but that was on N64, I wanted to play the 3d Version but never found the chance to buy it :p MM is really a unique Zelda game and quite the experience :p

My first Zelda game was probably Zelda: 4 Swords Anniversary Edition :D as so far I can remember :p

i haven't played ocarina of time, but i actually played both versions on majoras mask and i just love the feelings you can get from termina.
the fear, the sadness, the dispair, all of them are very well expresed even to the point where you as the player start really feeling it (smash pun intended).
the game sure is a bit darker than other zeldas but that's what makes it great, the fact that not only is it different from the others, but it tells the story so well

i love mojoa mask because its supposed to be creepy because the others (the xbox people and Sega and more...) thought Nintendo could not make scary games and so Nintendo thought why not make link scarier game... lets take recycled characters and make a new game the happy mask seller came from orania of time so did the bank teller or the person on the street asking for items in the bottle even dramin son who is named after you the first zelda game i played was spirit tracks

The first Zelda game I ever played was Ocarina of Time. If you're planning on trying out the two games, I would recommend playing Ocarina of Time first and then moving on to Majora's Mask. Overall, they are similar games, but Majora's Mask has very different goals. Your exploration in Majora's Mask is more limited by a timer, which changes the feel of the game. Don't get me wrong, I love Majora's Mask. I just think that Ocarina is a better introduction to the series. If you want an open world to explore, I would recommend beginning with Ocarina.

First played MM on my brother's n64. But seriously. Sit down. Go on the computer. Get Project64. I don't care how long it takes. Play them. Please. You will thank me.

I personally would reccomend getting the european N64 ocarina of time. Once you beat it, glitch out, man.

I have tried majora'smask and it was pretty bad. Some people like it though, so you may like it too.

But for the most part, just get the n64 simulation of the european and work from there.

Both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are great games, even though they have a lot of things in common. For one thing, Majora's Mask is a sequel to Ocarina of Time, and I am sure that everyone knows that. Both games use the Ocarina as an important item and use the same characters, although their story is changed in Majora's Mask and also add more characters in the game as well.
