Still annoyed...
Towns Folk
I bought a New 3DS XL yesterday night. I didn't play with it yet and once I started to use it today I noticed something weird.

The Circle Pad, when i use it, feels like it's grinding a bit. It's not like my 3DS XL (smooth). Do you think it's something that can get better over time? It's sort of a bummer now and a bit annoying.

Maybe it just requires breaking in, like buttons do on most consoles. You should play a game on it that uses the Circle Pad a lot to break it in quickly. Most likely it'll work fine after some use.

By the way, congratulations on getting a New 3DS :D

Yeah I was thinking about giving it maybe a week? After a week of gaming, if it's still not right call Nintendo to get it fixed/replaced? I'm playing Animal Crossing with it so... lots or Circle Pad!

Thanks! ^^

Hm interesting, if you really want to break that circle pad in.... you could play smash bros. But don't break it.

Grinding you say well i think you should play some game that uses the circle pad and it might help loosening the circle pad so you can play better but don't damage it but if you really want to fix the problem i suggest taking off the circle pad cover and see what is wrong with the control but you will have to put on back the cover somehow.

There really not so hard to take off, but if his situation gets worse I suggest he exchanges it.

I know that there are not hard to take off but are hard to put on back and you really must be careful when putting iton back and not adding any glue or something it need some kind of adhesive thing.Btw he is a she.

Lol, my bad. But I guess when mine came off all the time by accident (intense smash bros battles) I guess I was just lucky when I put mine back on, since it didn't break.

Since I just bought the console, I wouldn't take off the circle pad to check myself, I would fear to void my warranty somehow. If I feel like it's not getting better, I'll send it back to Nintendo.

Good, that's the right thing to do, where did you buy it from? Because if it is a store like EB games or gamestop they might understand, but if its like a Walmart or something (I know how they can be annoying about returns) then just ship it to Nintendo.

EBGames, but the issue would be my system transfer...
