Advice please: get the new 3DS or...not. What are the benefits of having the new 3DS?
 
If you have the old 3DS, I'd advise you to stick with it for a while until the New 3DS is less expensive and there are more games out for it.

The benefits of the new 3DS include
  • some games that are exclusive to the N3DS (Xenoblade Chronicles, for example)
  • some games will have features that are exclusive to the N3DS (for example, SSB 3D doesn't support the Circle Pad Pro on the old 3DS but supports the C-stick on the N3DS)
  • A second analog nub and ZL and ZR buttons
  • The N3DS has a better CPU, so... shorter load times and smoother running of more power-demanding games

If you don't have a 3DS and are considering which one to buy between the two, then the New 3DS of course :)
 
Ir is true that the new 3ds is better but I think users who have the normal 3ds are fine with it because they might just forget about the old and in with the new like what they are doing with club Nintendo and all of the differences Spinnerweb has throuoghly explained so.

A small nub that functions as a second Circle Pad on the right side of the console, and and two more buttons on the back of the console next to the normal R/L buttons. :)
