Personally I would've loved to see something like this from the beginning...maybe before the game even released to hype people up into playing. Especially since the NPCs featured are those that are available from the start, and not locked behind any free update (like Leif or Luna) But hey, I guess it's still helpful for those who recently got a copy and are just getting started on their islands!
