Moon/Sun New Pokemon revealed: Salandit

A new Pokemon was just revealed by Junichi Masuda himself at Japan Expo by the name of Salandit.

As the trailer describes, it's a Fire and Poison type Pokémon, a new type combination and it has the new ability Corrosion, which allows it to poison Steel and Poison type Pokémons, which are immune to this status condition.

Share your thoughts on this, either design or competitive wise ^-^

I think that the design is pretty ok, for a stage 1 Pokemon. It has a possibility to look super cool when it reaches its final stage. Honestly, I would hate to go toe to toe with that Pokemon in its final stage, because the ability to poison anything is actually really useful and can make a big difference in battle.

That Pokemon looks cool. I'm saying that because it looks like a lizard and I use to have lizard. He looks dark type Pokemon and a poison type. I love how it looks like he has a mask on. He's trying to take cubones syle. But yah that is really cool and where do you keep finding this info at. I want to be able to check myself too.

Well, since apparently Salandit somehow have ability to poison even Poison-types and also Steelies, sometimes I'm wondering what happened if it faced with Komala that usually supposed to immune to other status ailments besides of Sleep thanks to the latter's ability.

This one looks so cool *-* if the final evolution looks as cool as this one, I'm definitely going to use him x3
I bet his named is combination of words Salamander and Bandit, because he looks like a real Bandit there with that smug smirk on his face x3
Oh, and I bet almost everyone is going to use him in competitive battling :3

U r exactly right. I am pretty sure that's how they made his name. He kind of reminds me of crocodile from Pokemon black and white 1 and 2 series. Who knows. Maybe he may turn out to look a bit like that in final evolution.

I thought yesterday he looked like a corrupted version of Charmander but now that you mention it he kinda looks like a dark Sandile xD

Salandit seems like a pretty cool Pokemon! It's eyes are creeping me out a bit though.
If it's possible evolution has good stats, then it might be a great competitive Pokemon to use!
Even if not, it would still be useful in Little Cup battles!

Here's what I think.

• Cool new unexpected typing, I assume from this it's an offensive Pokémon.
• Very useful ability that may not suit its stats.
• Potential for evolutions.
• You can't not love that face.

I think it looks pretty cool design wise! It's like a Creepy dark lizard of sorts. The fire/poison type combo is pretty interesting. It's new ability will be pretty useful in battle. It's evolutions will be quite awesome, design and stat-wise (hopefully high attack or special attack). Can't wait to see them!

I really like it, it reminds me of a Gila Monster. Or a Komodo dragon. But I'm not sure why he's sitting like a frog in battle. Maybe he's kinda based off a poison dart frog or something? Anyway, I can't wait for it's evolution!

Wait a sec... Doesn't that duel typing give it a 4x weakness to ground? (I may just be crazy and forgot Poison's weaknesses) Because that combined with the fact it appears to be a more offensive Pokemon means that maybe just one fell swoop from Earthquake and you can kiss it goodbye. Better use Air Balloons and Focus Sashes.
