I don't think there should be. We've had plenty of games with the word "New" in them so that alone is getting pretty old. If they were going to make another 2D Mario game, they better come up with better names for them.

I don't think another will be made - not for the present Nintendo systems anyway. I enjoy the NSMB series, but they all feel very similar. Four games is plenty I think.

If one is made, I'd prefer something that's actually "new". NSMBU didn't appeal to me that much.

Not for 3DS, no. I'm 99% sure they will make New Super Mario Bros. 3 for their next handheld, however.

If they released another one on 3DS I would seriously be concerned. Make innovative games, Nintendo. Tired of running right.

The New Super Mario games need something a bit more intuitive in them. Make another 3D Mario game on the 3DS, the 3DS needs a good Mario game with good 3D usage in it other than Super Mario 3D Land. Make it a game like Mario galaxy 3. I loved the difficulty in the Mario Galaxy games (I have played both, 1 and 2) and it would be wonderful to have Mario Galaxy 3D on the 3DS.

I agree. I'm sure there will be another one, just not for the Nintendo 3DS. I just hope that the next game is a lot better because I've seen negative reviews from people who purchased NSMB2 and that's one of the reasons why I skipped it.

No, as what everyone said on this thread, I don't think it will be on any current Nintendo systems, but I'm positive it will be on the next generation (after the Wii U and 3DS), to be honest, I don't really care if there will be another game in the New Super Mario Bros. saga, because it's too repetitive and losing it's zest, I surely won't buy NSMB2, would love to see they add something new to the next game.

I hope there's not another one. We have enough Bros. games for the 3DS, tbh. It's getting a bit much and just adding another one will just kill things. xD

New Super Mario Bros 2 felt a lot like a copy of the original with very little new to offer. It was especially bad since it no longer had the versus mode present in the previous game. New Super Mario Bros is currently Nintendo's premier sidescrolling platformer, but I think it's time to end the series and come up with something that's radically different from its predecessors. This new series could potentially be the driving force behind their next generation consoles (still 3-4 years away).
