For those of you who actually subscribed to nintendo on youtube like me, you may have found this video:

It looks like we are getting another new software update, and this one has some interesting goodies to offer. This update features 3 new course items and one new feature to CourseWorld.

This update will come with:
  • A Koopa Klown Kart which can shoot fire
  • A pair of doors which can only be activated by the p switch
  • Bumpers to bounce around
  • World Records for completing each course, along with who completed the course first
A pretty big update for Mario Maker. I'm pretty excited to use some of the new items (I'm getting good ideas with all the new items) and maybe the World Record feature will start making me Speedrun levels more than I should.

How do you feel about this update? Good, bad, neutral? Share your thoughts below!

What if you get a fire flower, then go into the fire clown car? Double the fire-power! :woot:
I'm definitely going to (try to) make good use of bumpers in my future levels.
Once those world records release, I bet people are going to speed run Rubber Ross's Spring levels. This also makes me wonder if they'll ever add a highest score section as well, or at least make it optional to enable or disable in your levels.
Not too sure of the difference between the "P" and the "?" switch in the NSMB.U version, but I have a feeling both switches will be present, since no music is heard when pushing the "P" switch to activate the doors. Then again, I could as easily be wrong. Only time will tell... xP

Wow the update looks really cool. I stopped playing Mario maker but after watching this I want to go back and play it again. I really like how the flying thing shoots fire rather than the other one. I can't wait to go and play the game after this. Would u like to play my level I create today that is inspired by the flying thing.
