Like I speculated, the nx is not going to be a gaming device that is the successor to either the 3ds or the wii u. I am sure a mass of people will be disappointing because there has been a lot of hype for it to be a home console. Perhaps one will come in 2018?

Anyways, even if it was not what people were expecting it to be, I am pretty hyped. Nintendo needs to gain more popularity. Then I think that will be the right time to release a next gen gaming device.

Looking up from YouTube and the masses of media, many people were thinking that it was a new gaming device. Nope, that was not true at all. For some reason, I am glad because honestly, releasing/announcing a new gaming console is quite early.

What do you think? Are you disappointing that there is no next gen gaming device, are are you ready for a next gen device that will expand Nintendo's buisness?

I hope there are at the very least, more wii u games and 3ds games (more wii u games) to make up for this, because many people want more games. The wii u lineup is really awesome, but I think more games should be announced for this year. The 3ds does not need as many games, as there are 3rd party support on that platform. Nintendo needs to focus on the wii u now, and release more games, if there is no new gaming device. That way, 2016 will feel great.

I am glad nintendo is trying to gain more reputation, and they may become more known in the future also. Then will be the appropriate time to release a new gaming console.

If anyone can show any sources countering this, I will be glad to see what that is. Speculations are everywhere in the media, so it is hard to see actual real news.

Until then, we should wait till E3 to see some official news. The Nintendo talks about the nx, the more interested I get into what it truly is.

I'm actually kinda glad its not a new console xD. I got my wii u like last year and I wouldn't want another console to come in 2 years later and ruin the life span of something I just got ;-;. But I'm expecting a next gen console coming at most 5 years from now. But now looking at it I could get one since I'm not gonna buy a whole console xD

Very interesting >.< Now I wonder how will everyone react to what the NX is now, I certainly do hope more games are coming t the 3DS and Wii U. I also hope that this 'new concept' does well, and I wonder what else smartphone games the NX will have. I'm guessing the 3DS and Wii U will continue it's life?

Tagging @VoluXian :p

Well, I feel glad, makes me less salty about the fact I got my Wii U just a year ago. Just like @np2016, that would have felt terrible, cutting the Wii U's lifespan, and the 3DS (in some way) as well, when you know that the N3DS "just" came out (ok, it has been a while, but it's still pretty... new, I guess ?)

But then, I still wonder what exactly will be the NX. The fact the article kinda bounces around Nintendo instead of doing "transitions" is kinda confusing (they speak of the NX, and a few words later... Miitomo for mobile).

In any case, I wonder what Nintendo will be throwing at us.

It fills me with relief that the NX isn't Nintendo's next gen gaming console. Hopefully not too many Ninty fans will be butt-hurt over the fact. Whatever 'new concept' the NX is going to entail, I'm certain it will blow many of us away, or at least pique our interest even more.

Well it seems like everyone was extremely negative about the Wii u when it came out. Everyone is saying how big of a failure it was from Nintendo. I hope the NX is more successful!!

I think Nintendo is taking the risk of basically "doing a Sega" (if it is going to be released on 2016).. Releasing an "improved" console to replace a slow selling predecessor, which leads to the anger of the consumer base and loss of confidence to the brand, much like what Sega did with the Dreamcast.

I'm excited for NX and to see what else Nintendo has in store.

But hey, who else is thrilled to know that Nintendo is planning with Universal Studios? Nintendo theme park!!

*sighs of relief* :headphone:

I'm really glad it's not a next gen Nintendo console, because us, as gamers are not quite ready for one yet. My Wii U is just over a year old, and it would be a shame to not make the most of it in all it's glory. Nintendo now has a lot of time to make the Wii U shine and to bring a range of blockbuster titles for us to play and enjoy. There are still people out there who still want a Wii U/don't even have the console yet, so giving them time is ideal. At least we don't have to worry about a new console 'taking over' from the Wii U and being more modern/the latest. xD

The Smartphone game idea sounds interesting, to say the least. Let's see what you can come up with, Ninty. :sneaky:

NINTENDO HASN'T RELEASED ANY INFORMATION ON THE NX! Where are these endless unconfirmed guesses coming from? I will listen to Nintendo and not the Media... All the speculation about things like the NX coming-out in 2016? Iwata HIMSELF said that they wouldn't even talk about the NX till 2016! Come on, the NX's release date shouldn't even be thought about guessing until we get some feed back from Nintendo, preferably in a direct so a fake article can't just be written up.

Sorry I went on a bit of a rant there.

I actually still hope this holds true, I'm more for the smartphone gaming concept than I am for the new console idea everyone keeps bringing up.

The NX? Not a console? That sounds interesting. And from Nintendo's part, that isn't new for them to work on something that isn't a console. You have to remember Nintendo started out as a company making Hanafuda cards in 1889. And Nintendo went from making cards, to toys, to love hotels. So, I think it's a good idea that Nintendo is doing this. Nintendo is adapting again, just like it did, back in the old days.
