Nintendo Crossover Idea

I have an idea for a Nintendo Mario-64-DS-style crossover. You start as Kirby, exploring all the levels of King DeDeDe’s Castle and the first boss is King DeDeDe, in beating him you unlock Sonic. Then Tails flies you to Eggman’s lab and the second boss is Eggman, beating him unlocks Link. You ride the boat from Wind Waker to Hyrule Castle and the third boss is Ganon/Ganondorf, and you get Mario for beating him. You play through the Mushroom Kingdom and get to Bowser’s Castle, where fourth, you would beat Bowser, and he retreats to the Arena, in which you fight all four bosses with Kirby in Stage 1 to save Meta Knight(That's the best I could come up with) and you unlock Stage 2 in which you beat all four bosses as Sonic. Once you clear that you save Amy and unlock Stage 3, where you do the same thing as Link and you save Zelda. In Stage 4 you do the same thing as Mario, and you save Peach. You then beat the game, however there is a bonus Stage 5 in which you fight all four bosses in a tag-team playing as Meta Knight, Amy, Zelda and Peach. Then, you truly beat the game.

So, what do you guys think? Yay or nay?

Basically Kirby 64: Crystal Shards for the 3DS? If not I'd like to see that anyway.

Yay

I've never played Kirby 64, but I don't think that's the type of game I'm thinking of... Have you ever played Super Mario 64 DS? If you haven't it's basically just like Super Mario 64 (Collect Power Stars from the different courses and save Princess Peach) except along the way there are special paintings that take you to courses with bosses at the end that give you keys to unlock the other characters if you beat them. This is what I was thinking of, but instead of getting the keys for Mario, Luigi and Wario, you get keys for Mario, Sonic and Link.

Oh, and here's a little extra idea I had. I said in the first post that Tails flies you to Eggman's Castle, Link rides the boat from Wind Waker to Hyrule, and Mario travels to Bowser's Castle. Instead of this, maybe there could be a Subway-Surfers-style minigame that differs depending on who you are playing as at the time. If you are playing as Kirby or Sonic, it takes place in the sky, if you are playing as Link, it takes place in the sea, and if you are playing as Mario it takes place on the ground. Kirby rides his little starship, Sonic rides on top of Tails' biplane, Link rides whatever the boat's name is, King of the Sea or something, and Mario rides his B-Dasher. The gameplay is the same, it's just the graphics of the area, enemies, and obstacles that change.

I actually really like your idea. Upon reading the title only, I was thinking: "Isn't that what Super Smash Brothers is?" as the Subspace Emissary mode in Brawl tried to do this. Only reason we didn't get another story mode is because Nintendo said people were leaking the cut scenes early..

But, I do like your idea. I just don't think anything like this will ever come about.

I'm fine with it not coming out, it is just an idea after all. Besides, there are some people who could hack Super Mario 64 DS or create a fangame like Super Mario 63 with this idea. So, are you Yay or Nay?

I'm Yay. Like I said, I like the idea. I would certainly play something like this, and I think a lot of others would. But imagine the time and work that would have to be put in to this idea in order for it be spectacular. The gameplay would have to change for every zone, unless you just expect it to be a basic platformer, like Sonic or Mario. Zelda games are the only ones in your idea that aren't really platformers, so I'm not sure what would happen there.

OK, I get where you're coming from when you say Zelda games aren't platformers... Except they are! Er, one is. Legend of Zelda 2 was a 2-D Zelda game much like Mario games. Here are some screenshots:

Is that It though? Would the story be done after that? I wish nintendo would mix up some games together but I always feels like its going to end up being a mess/failure. Nice Idea though.

It would sound like a great idea really to me , and it would be just like Super Smash Bros like . I also like the concept of the game too . but it is most likely not be released but it is still something awesome to make . On the other hand , I have a feeling that many people might criticize and hate it :bear:

I'd like to see that, but with a character selection on the beggining, or the possibility to swap the characters. This would make the game less linear ;)

Very nice ideas indeed, and I bet I could add some real-time combat in there, as well as, maybe Shulk and other Nintendo and 3rd party characters. Well, I'm not making the game, but I could incorporate that into the idea, at least ;) And maybe the idea I had in the beginning could be just a side story, or maybe there could be a bunch of these Ala Kirby Super Star/Super Star Ultra.
