Yeah... The nx is a console. I am guessing that nintendo is going to do something badly. It seems like sadly, their resources are going to move on to this console(Nx) now. It makes me very concerned for nintendo. They are making games for the wii u still, but it seems like they are moving focus to the nx(Rest of some games). This is very bad. This is just like sega. Nintendo needs to not abandon the console so quickly. Fans are already really mad at nintendo, for there lack luster of games for the the wii u and it makes me think, is the nx going to fail too? Think of the sega Saturn and the dreamcast. Sega got abandoned Saturn, leading the fanbase to get very mad, so the dreamcast failed too. Nintendo should not end up in this fate.

1.Even if sales are lackluster, at least have decent line up for the wii u in 2016
2.Do not move any games that was promised for the wii u to the nx
3.Be fair to the fan and announce some games
4.Maybe do a crossbuy of the nx and wii u games for a year
5.Listen to what fans are saying and take action

I think that as long as Nintendo does these things, it does not lead to their doom

I have a very similar feeling about the NX. The wii U still has a lot of more games coming up and they must not move to the NX. It would be a nightmare for us and a disaster for Nintendo.

They shouldn't have done the NX being a surprise for us. People will end up hoping the NX to be of all different kinds and then nintendo will make it and a lot of us will be disapppointed ;_;

Update: Recently, I saw an interview with Iwata. With worriment, the journalist has asked Iwata a question. He said "We will keep on making software for the wii u and 3ds. We are priortizing people who bought a wii u." He also said that nx is new hardware and it will start from zero. The 3ds and the wii u have install bases apparently, so he wants to keep supporting them. "Cutting of software for previously released hardware is inefficient." If this is the case, I guess we will have to see. I am not going to put my hopes to high but nintendo finally is getting what people want.

Nintendo hasn't even released anything about the console ._. searched on google and said nintendo might be hiding this stuff to prevent Microsoft and Sony from stealing their Idea. Still 2 1/2 years of a console is considered a really short life ._. and Nintendo is still releasing games for the Wii U, I think its too early for a new console. Nintendo really needs to provide more info about games and the new console for fans. I am hoping for a cross buy (plays wii u and nx games), if so I probably will buy it...

They're going to be releasing games for 3DS/Wii U at least to the end of 2016, seeing as how NX will most likely launch in late 2017 or late 2018. It'll be fine.

I think the 3DS will keep receiving new titles until at least 2021. The last two years might be made largely of licensed games, but still. And like the other successful consoles, there'll be a couple of must-have games even in the last two years.

I can't see it lasting THAT long. In the end, I think they will either do HDS or Nintendo Fusion where the gamepad is fully portable - some sort of portable HD gaming from Nintendo has potential, IMO.

But I agree that they will support it to the end. I'm just thinking that it goes until late 2017 or 2018, 3DS has had a good run but I can't see too many 3rd party games being released by big companies and Wii U isn't doing too well so I can see NX replacing it in due time.

I'm sure you are certainly correct. There are plenty of good games that came at the end of a consoles life cycle like Shantae for the GBC, Drill Dozer by Game Freak for the GBA, the Mother/EB games, and I'm sure there's more just to name a few. Believe it or not I think there are still DS games being made but they're licensed games. Maybe if the NX has backwards compatibility there will be more games still coming out for 6th gen systems and boost sales in older games to make way for new.

Nintendo has the money to release the NX while continuing to support 3DS and Wii U. They just need to keep their gaze on all 3 consoles at once and release great games that bring in the dough for each. They can pull it off, I believe.

I would not see why games that were promised for the Wii U, would move to the NX. That would surely kill out the entire faith in the Wii U (maybe not really). I hope that Nintendo is confident in their decisions on the NX and of the 3DS and Wii U. While it's not that I doubt them, but any slip up can be really bad .-.

This was made quite a while back. I read some source with no citations, so it is totally fake. Nothing I said should be believed. I think 2017 would be an ideal time. It can be released at proper 9th generation. God knows what the nx is, but yeah, we will have to wait till E3 to find out. Personally, I want to see what the nx is even about, because the media is kinda confusing.

For instance, 1 section of the media says "home console". Then another says "handheld" or "hybrid or even "vr device". I feel like people are hyping too much for a console that has not even been seen yet. Man, I seriously am curious and we will have to wait till E3 to see what the nx truly is or the release date of it.

Welp, I see >.<
I guess there's a lot of speculations about what the NX is; on the internet. What is the NX has surely been a question everyone's carving to know...

From recent rumors, it seems that a 2016 launch is imminent. I wish it was false.
Nintendo should have some sort of payment to the Wii U owners. Sega did the same stint with the Saturn and Dreamcast.
The thing is, Nintendo needs to satisfy the current Wii U install base because they will give the NX a boost. Its not like a Sony gamer will buy the NX and play Mario.

Heres what I think Nintendo should do:
  1. Make original Wii U games.
  2. Make original NX games, not Wii U ports.
  3. If you are making a port anyway, make sure that cross play between both systems can be achieved.
  4. Give discounts to Wii U owners, for the NX console, or games in the Nintendo eShop.
  5. Do not do a Sega and say stuff like "Wii U is not our future" this year.
  6. Make Zelda U for Wii U.
  7. Make an original Zelda game for NX since Zelda U was marketed as a Wii U game anyway.

This post was quite a long time ago..... To be real honest, since I am starting to not play as much video games as I used to, I do not care as much, but a 2017 release date would be preferred for the nx. Zelda U is being developed for the wii u anyways, and porting that to the NX would be almost impossible. Credit for Wii u owners would be sweet though I am not sure how that would work.

Honestly, I will wait till E3 and see how this NX console turns out to be. Overall though, Nintendo has gotten a bit boring, so this console better surprise me. I hope the console releases in 2017, so that nintendo can really make sure the NX is good.
