Nintendo Patents Free Form

Since this patent, people are being lead to believe that Nintendo is using this idea for they're upcoming console, "Project NX". Of course, patents often go unused, but they seem to be looking into this one alot more than others. As always, I'll keep my eyes peeled for more info.

I hope Nintendo won't use that name for a console, since ABC Family is changing their name to Freeform in January. It would be weird to have a TV channel and game console with the same name.

I hope they don't use this patent for actual NX release. I want Nintendo to give us a controller with buttons and joystick on it with a touch screen display. Kinda like the PS Vita but as a controller. And Nintendo should at least try to make the Nintendo NX Controller less bulky and smaller, I want a portable type of controller.

So true, I actually don't like that name for ABC Family...I like the old name. Hopefully Nintendo is just mulling over the idea and won't use it.

To be honest Im really sad there changing it to FreeForm, Because i've been watching ABC Family as ABC Family my whole life, And i really hope that the NX isn't named FreeForm.

It would be quite a shift from the traditional joystick + buttons layout most gaming controllers have, but it makes playing the game more unique and fun to learn. However I also think that if the NX were to use this for a controller that there could be ports for older controllers (Wii U Pro, Wii remotes, GC, etc.) could be available as well. I kinda like the idea, but maybe it's for something else that they patented it, who knows really?

That controller looks interesting. Nothing I've ever seen before. It kind of reminds me of the Wii Remote.
