No Game No Life movie confirmed

Just a quick warning, there is going to be spoilers for the light novel and the anime in this post.

So after the light novels and the anime/mangas people where expecting a season 2 for the anime but instead now a movie has been released.

The movie will be based off of the 6th light novel which is mainly narrated by Tet who tells the story of how he helped an Imanity named Riku during the great war and how he was helped by Shuvi to end the war. This will be confusing for people who have only watched the anime as that is only based on the first 3 light novels and the 6th light novel contains things that where introduced past volume 3. Hopefully the producers will be kind enough to fill in the details by putting flashbacks or something to the previous volumes so people who have only watched the anime can understand everything that's going on.

So the anime left us off at where Sora and Shiro won the Werebeasts game and then we're left where Sora and Shiro are starting to take over Disboard to the final goal of them playing against Tet. Of course this leaves a lot more oppitunity for a season 2, most people believe that this will happen as well as the movie.

What are your thoughts on this though? Would you prefer a season 2 or is a movie good enough? A ninth light novel is going to be realsed in Japan on July 25th but it'll be a while for an English translation as at the moment all that's online is volumes 1-6.

Hmm, I think I'd much prefer a second season than a movie to be completely honest.

Personally, I think that the rest of the storyline should go into a second season instead of a movie because most anime movies don't actually follow the storyline of the actual anime itself. For example, in Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess, the movie was about them helping a girl who has a fragmented memory and just happens to have a grudge against wizards/mages, which didn't follow the story arc that happened before the movie back in 2012.

Let's look at another example, Hetalia: Axis Powers - Paint it, White!

The storyline for that movie was... a bit weird, so maybe Pedians reading this can just look it up. Anyway, the Hetalia movie doesn't follow the storyline of what happened last time in the series.

It would be kind of weird for me to see an anime movie that actually followed the manga/light novel storyline, because I'm used to it being something different. A movie for No Game No Life would be awesome, though! I'd just prefer a actual show to follow the storyline, and not a movie.

Well it sounds like the 6th light novel for NGNL would fit perfectly into a movie (Yet to read it though >.< ) it'll just have the downside that people that have only watched the anime will miss out on some things that are mentioned in the 4-5th novels. There is still enough content in the novels for a 2nd season still, so they might just see how popular the movie is then decide if they could make another season.

I would much rather have a second season because a whole season has much more time to explain what happens in greater detail than a movie can. This is something totally unrelated but take the percy Jackson series for example. The first movie only played out the first book, while the second movie tried to cram 2-6 (I think, it's been a long time) into a 2 hour period. It's just not good... I would take a second season any day over a movie.
