I think I know what happened. The update is not working because you do not have enough space in the system to update the game, thus, you may need to re-download it on another sd card. If not, it may be that you will have to repair the software. Go on the eshop, got to settings/other and you will see "repair software". Hope this helped

okay, ill try it out thanks

Are you sure it's because of space? I remember seeing an update for Pokémon Rumble World and I went with it. However, I wanted to check the details in the eShop first but when I went to the game, I didn't see a notification for an update ever again. I was deciding if I should call Nintendo about this but I never did.

No, it has to be space. For cube creator 3d, an update never appeared but once I deleted some games, I got an update notice. It has to be space, if not, you have to delete it and re-download it from the eshop or repair the software, there really is no other way other than those options. Just make sure to backup your data before doing this.

I have over 33,000 blocks of open space with my 16 GB .

I think you guys need to delete the game and redownload it again, or redownload it on another sd card

Could you post the error code?

You should also go to your Wi-Fi settings to set up a new connection and delete your old one.

I'm sure that the problem isn't with your SD card or 3DS - it's with your internet connection. Whenever there's a big system update I always expect to get the 'An error happened, the system will now restart' message and have to do it all over again at least once. And it can't update the game because it can't connect to the eShop to get the update because the eShop only works with the latest system update >o<

  • Move your 3DS as close to the router as possible
  • Turn off all other devices that use the internet while updating to speed up the update's download
  • Reboot your router once before updating
Good luck. \o

Did you try going into recovery mode and downloading the update? Press L+R+A+Up (on the dpad) on start up. That error code usually means NUS is down or in maintenance or some other thing.

Space? It's not space with system updates. System Updates aren't stored on the SD card, they're stored on the NAND. I have to agree with the game updates though. You probably won't need to repair the game since the game is perfectly fine.
