NX will "change the concept of home console and handheld gaming"

So BotW is on NX too? Welp, that's a shame. But NX should be pretty good I guess.

Virtual boy is still better

Yep, it's a dual release, like Zelda TP. No way they were gonna let all that money go to waste on the Wii U.

Nintendo's literal thought process: launch exclusive, delay that ish, delay that ish again, showcase that ish, make it no longer Wii u exclusive, put that ish as the last good Wii u game to be released

Well, ofc. It was likely intentional though, the Wii U wouldn't have done that much better even with BotW, so we'd have gotten a worse game that wouldn't have sold nearly as well. It seems the Wii U is to the NX what the GameCube was to the Wii.

The GameCube was a master piece

I refer to it's history :p it's the successor to a revolutionary console (N64, Wii) it undersold and got third place below Microsoft and Sony (Xbox and PS2, Xbone and PS4) it had majorly first-party titles that received critical acclaim, with fewer third-party titles, and it ended it's run with a highly hyped up Zelda game thst got delayed many times and ended up being a dual release for it's successor.

The similarities are waaaay too uncanny.

I don't think it will actually change the concept of a home handheld and video game console, but I do definitely think it will be a absolutely great system!

So, based on this, I'll be giving my input here.

The NX definitely can't be another home console, neither can it be a power home console meant to compete in firepower against PlayStation nor Xbox. No, the home console market already has these 2 giants playing catch up with each other power-wise. Another home console on the market would be bad news for everyone involved.

What Nintendo needs to do is drop both Wii U and 3DS, stay away from their competition while also reaping profits off it, the handheld market is dominated by Nintendo at the moment, MS doesn't have interest on it, and Sony dropped it along with the Vita. Both MS and Sony are focusing on the home console market by making stronger consoles every single time. The NX could, instead, be a handheld with slightly higher power than the Wii U (the Tegra X1 rumors give ground for this, and it is technologically superior, being based on the ARM architecture) which is still very powerful for a handheld. If it can connect to TV, it could work as a handheld without abandoning a home console-like experience (TV play, local, single console multiplayer) while also being a cheaper option than Sony and MS's offerings.

Luring in third-parties (while financing potentially critical successes, if not commercial ones a la Bayonetta 2) and focusing their own software into a single plataform. Thus generating lots of exclusives.

Tl;dr. The NX being a powerful, modern handheld with TV connection, for a lower price and with lots of exclusives would serve as the perfect alternative choice in gaming, thus being a viable purchase even if others already have a gaming PC/home console. I could see it selling amazingly well, myself.

The NX needs to have exclusive features, not just the games because people don't want to get to know the games unless the games are really popular and have their goods sold everywhere (1st parties), And when I say "exclusive features" I do not mean the hardware because the hardware needs to be cheap and built to last like they've always done it. There is not competition between game consoles and computers/laptops/PCs/smartphones, or at least there shouldn't be as many people can or want to afford both. And is this "exclusive feature" or features good enough, only time will tell. Knowing what Nintendo has experimented with they need to really support their research and development (R&D) and correct it so it appeals to a broader audience, not with money but with common world cultural knowledge. Only time will tell what this thing will tell us.

*whispers please have third party developers support*
